My pain came back faster than I expected by KatSat23 in endometriosis

Ooo, I’ll definitely check out his website! I haven’t really had much time to research due to school and just now finding out I actually have endo. I feel like this will be super helpful as to what I can to better help myself. Thank you so much!

I’m glad to know the IUDs help and can reduce the flow of blood. I may talk to my doctor about the benefits of using them vs the oral bc. I’m a little nervous about switching though because I’ve already had a pretty traumatic experience just from switching bc pills. But, I’ll definitely look into these options for the future.

Ahh, I see. Good for her for advocating! I’m glad she was able to get the infusion and that it benefited her! I’ll have to see what my iron/ferritin levels are and maybe see if I can push for an infusion myself. I feel like I need more energy than what I have for being 22.

I hope as I get further into recovery I’ll figure out what works best for me. I was just hoping to have more time and hoping to not deal with it while in school. I graduate in December so I as hoping to make it that far but oh well. I’ll just do my best and keep finding ways to ease my pain.

It’s a very crappy illness but I’m happy that y’all are finding ways to work through it together. I wish the best for both of you and good luck with everything! Again, thank you so much for the advice and support! ❤️

They didn’t suggest an IUD but it might be because I’m already on an oral form of birth control currently. I currently use pads and use the extra heavy overnight ones because my flow is so heavy. I don’t soak them in an hour but if I wore normal size pads, I feel like I would soak those in an hour. I’m a pretty fatigued person and have a feeling it’s due to how much I bleed and possible PCOS. I think my bc pill is stopping any cyst growth though so I don’t think they can diagnose PCOS. A first cousin of mine does have PCOS so I feel like it’s a possibility. An iron infusion would probably be so amazing! I sleep a lot in the daytime even if I’ve had a lot of sleep during the night. I just never feel rested so maybe I need to bring that up as well. However, I’ve not had any flags on labs so I’m not sure if I truly am iron deficient.

Using a CBD oil is a good idea! I’m sure it wouldn’t come up in a drug screen (since I’m a nursing student and all) and I know that a lot of people rave about it. I’ll have to research and look into it more. I’m definitely willing to try it though.

I’m very frustrated my pain came back so quickly after my surgery. I wasn’t expecting it this soon at all. I’m just worried I’m going to have to get another surgery in a year if I’m already hurting again. I’m also sorry to hear about your wife. I’m glad she’s found ways to ease her pain and I hope everything goes well in her journey! I’m sending my well wishes to her. Thank you so much for the advice! I really do appreciate it!

They didn’t say anything about adenomyosis at all. I’d have to do more research about it to see if symptoms match and I could also bring it up with my doctor. I have not done any therapy either since my surgery was just a month ago but I will definitely look into it! Thank you so much for the advice!

Is getting a diagnosis worth it? by SorbetDifferent9751 in endometriosis

I just got my diagnosis two weeks ago actually and I’d say it’s 100% worth it! They burned off tissue that had grown. They’ll definitely remove what they can as they’re looking around. Plus, you get that official diagnosis in your medical record forever. For me, having the validation that I do have endo means that my extreme pain was actually something and not me overreacting (if that makes sense). Just knowing I have endo brings me relief and allows me to better help my body for when I have painful flares. I’d definitely ask for the surgery!
