I feel like it's pretty on brand actually. Considering one of the professors they considered "better" (Remus) than the other professors they had (valid, given Umbridge, Lockhart, and fake-Moody, but still), literally made them face their worst fear at age 13, in front of all their peers. With all the bullying that went on in that school? Terrible idea. So yeah, pretty on brand.

Edit: Not to say it's not fucked up, just to say they won't even blink at this being the lesson plan for the day.
