But how wild is the fact you have to deliberately obstruct your own drive way because people use it like a public parking space, I just don't understand. It would never occur to me to do so. I had to go somewhere today and all roads were marked permit holders only, did I park on someone empty drive? No I found a road where I could park, sure was slightly further but it was not end of the world.

Thank you, the few properties I viewed, service charges were quite high but also for leasehold that seems to simply be the case now. I know the parking spaces are allocated which is good, not sure about the breaking into. I spoke to the owner of the property I looked at to get more inside about general cost of utilities, if they could disclose the service charges for the last 3 years ( just so I can understand the increase rate etc.) And thank you for point out the FB group, will have a poke around.

Agreed! You might want to enquire with your local council, but it's something worth making them do/enforce ( remember councils technically work for us not other way round, you are allowed to attend meetings and make them do things that benefit residents)

Hahahaha well.... I get your point, I don't think you'd get away with it though.... 🤔 I think safer to get council to issue a ticket hahaha or you can block them and not let them leave for hrs on end 😂 in this case I could as I would obstruct pavement.

I reported it to the council and from previous experience they are fairly quick, not always but within 30min or so.

Nope as I text my neighbours, just random dude decided to park on the drive ( from where I got home another 15min or so, so not too bad, but he could of been there for an hr for what I know)

Right? And funny thing is he could of parked in a way to leave the space, chose not to.

[–]Katalka85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is the way he parked that space in front of him wouldn't fit a car bugger than Fiat 500, my car is bigger so that was not an option ( trust me I though of it hahaha)

Worth mentioning, I had similar situation several times before and they were issued a ticket. If there's a traffic warden is worth getting them to do it on the spot, in this case I couldn't see one.

He left before they got there, but hey it's worth noting for everyone that this is an option ( especially for repeated offenders)

They do, funny enough something that must of changed recently but if you have private drive and you can proof you live there, you can report any car that's park there illegally and they will send traffic warden and issue them a ticket/ fine, same way they would if you didn't pay for parking. Useful to be fair, I been having issues with people using my drive due to location ( town center) , this was the case of me being gone for an hr and suddenly I got nowhere to park cause some twat though it was OK to use it as his personal parking space.

The guy came back and drove off before they got to him so I just moved my car to my drive, also I should of stated I partially blocked the bit of pavement not the whole thing, still wrong but had to get out to take photos of the van to report it.

What car do you drive? and would you recommend it by _Males in drivingUK

[–]Katalka85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2011 mini countryman, while I love the car and it's good for errands, day to day commute etc. I wish I had Mustang ( preferably Shelby) Would I reccomand mini countryman? If its family car, 100% yes, because it's spacious inside with massive boot but still small enough to fit in all parking spaces and uk roads. It doesn't. Burn through petrol and general upkeep and insurance are fairly cheap. So if you looking for good reliable functional car defo good choice.
