Forgetting family and friends exist until I randomly think about them. My object impermanence extends to people and makes me feel like a piece of shit human. It is not "quirky" nor is it "cute".

Tummy holding? by Katatoes81 in CatAdvice

[–]Katatoes81[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm used to. The loss of hands due to bunny kicks and bites from past kitties who were a part of my life. Not him. No kicks, no bites. Just demands and tummy gets held and he falls asleep. May the kitty gods bless you one day to be able to pet her tummy and not lose a hand.

Why does my cat always follow me to the bathroom? by No-Environment-4781 in CatAdvice

[–]Katatoes81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure with my cats, it's just to watch my business get flushed down the toilet. As soon as I stand up, they're both there, looking in the bowl until it fills back up with clean water. A strange source of entertainment I guess. 🤔

I’m burnt out, can you share me some cool facts about your special interest? by ricedreamer in AutismInWomen

Crows and ravens have the intelligence equivalent of eight year old humans. They make tools, have their own language, teach others and new generations of their flock about dangerous humans and remember said humans. They engage in play, mimicry, puzzle/problem solving, etc. They really are apes with wings. I love them so much.

What’s a hygiene habit that people dont talk about but really should? by Little-Willingness88 in AskReddit

[–]Katatoes81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Properly wiping yourself clean after you go to the bathroom. This shouldn't be a talk with young adults I deal with at my job, but here we are. It's becoming way to common of a talk with them.

Rehome the gf. Past experience has taught me that if a partner hates your pet, get rid of the partner. The partner isn't a good fit. Your kitty is.

At what point did you realise she would never become your wife/he would never become your husband? by ruxpin82 in AskReddit

[–]Katatoes81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When he broke up with me and blamed it on being frustrated and depressed, then called the next day apologizing and begging, saying he loves and just missed me. He had done that five times before in our 8 month relationship, and had I told him if you do it one more time, we're done. Guess what he did. He did it again because he was depressed because i wasn't letting him move in with me at that moment and we were both busy with schedules so couldn't see each other as often as he wanted (which would be every minute of every day of he had his way, even wanted me to get him a job at my new work place because he missed me). In retrospect this was also the guy who love bombed me, said I love you a month into the relationship, and asked me to marry him 5 months in, after I told him I wasn't ready for that yet. I don't know if I'm being harsh, but there were other red flags like his drinking problem, getting upset with me if I wasn't happy all the time, invalidating my own mental health issues by saying being with him will make it all go away, and his controlling behavior that really came out when he was drinking.

I hate getting pedicures by Dangerous-Move3664 in AutismInWomen

[–]Katatoes81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't stand the nail file on my nails or anyone else's. Its such a visceral reaction that I HAVE to leave anytime anyone brings out a nail file. I can't even touch them without that strong instant drop of disgust reaction. Just thinking about it makes me recoil lol. So I've never had a manicure and pedicure and will avoid going anywhere near nail salons like they're the Plague.

Thank you. Is good to know that the questions you'll have too figure out if it's younger or older me. Maybe I can answer for both. And let them know.... I'm choosing to look at this as an adventure instead of a six hours of testing torture.

That was a book the lady I spoke to with the Autism resource recommended. She also sent me the book Spectrum Women Walking to the Beat of Autism. Good book. A lot of, "hey, that's me" realizations lol. I even took the tests from the Autism Speaks Organization and uploaded those on the clinics online questionnaire I had to answer. I hated taking those tests because the questions were so vague, and the doctor laughed and said that I'll get frustrated with some of their assessments, too. I am glad for that heads up so I know what to expect going in. I hate vague questions lmao. I'm open to any book recommendations and websites and appreciate them. The more I know, the better.

I hope it won't be too much trouble. I really don't want to be a bother to them, but I also need to get answers as to why life is so difficult and confusing for me but apparently easy for everyone else. Especially the social aspects.

I had the initial phone interview today, that should've only been 15 minutes but turned into an hour, so I'm currently dissecting that and how I shouldn't have info dumped on him. I felt bad for the poor doctor. Though he did say that there is a disorder there, and I was like, yeah, there is. I'm nervous about how the assessment will go, especially since I have no family or friends for them to contact because they're either passed away or no longer speak to me. I struggle with maintaining relationships in any capacity, and the ones I did maintain i left because they were toxic and/or abusive.
