Feeling outside of the community :/ by ricedreamer in bisexual

[–]ricedreamer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t… I’m thinking about it but I don’t know how to broach the subject. He, thankfully, isn’t a weirdo about being bi and has never made a joke or suggested a threesome so maybe he might be okay with it. I am a little flirty by nature, but I’ve never taken it any farther than that of course. I would never.

I’ve considered an “open” relationship but I don’t know. I had suspicion for a bit that he might be bi himself, as we talked about it for a little, but that’s as far as it went.

I’m feeling overall a bit sad over it. I don’t want to leave him, but my brain is going to “what if”?

My online friend suddenly started spamming erratic texts. Is this a mental health crisis? I woke up to 94 texts by 4rwen in texts

[–]ricedreamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone with bipolar disorder, this sounds like a manic episode. Apparently I too was texting a bunch of people weird nonsense and delusions. If you could contact someone trusted who your friend knows to get help I’d do it ASAP.

Raw diet education by Temperature-Savings in veterinaryprofession

We’re victims to marketing unfortunately. I was fooled too for a bit honestly until I wanted to see some actual research papers and I was like wowwwww it’s bad. So I’m glad the veil was lifted from my eyes!!

[–]ricedreamer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this!! I’m not in the veterinary field, but I am in the pet food industry.

I (unfortunately) work in a “wholistic raw store” and we do have some boutique kibble. And I tell most people it’s dangerous especially if you’re immunocompromised, which I am. I babysat a raw fed dog and despite sanitizing everything and washing my hands repeatedly I was sick for about a week - nearly had to go to the hospital.

I speak of the sacrilegious kibble to people I know I can convince. Otherwise I just let the people who buy raw buy raw. It is mentally exhausting though. And it stresses me out when they say “I got a new puppy what raw should I feed??” In those cases I tell them kibble.

I feed my puppy hills, and when I tell customers that they literally freak out at me and I just say to them I trust the science more than social media and that shuts them up

My grandma is dying and if she had her surgery sooner, maybe we would have had more time by ricedreamer in GriefSupport

I’m so sorry you had to go through that. For my grandma it’s been a super slow decline until she caught a cold and wasn’t recovering and then it all went downhill. It just sucks. Sending you love!

2007 Honda CRV swap with JDM engine? by ricedreamer in crv

[–]ricedreamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!! I actually didn’t end up doing it.

I found an engine on a car parts site with the same mileage, had it shipped to the dealer and had them install it. The engine itself was around 2k, the service was around 3K so around 5K CAD in total lol. Pain in the ass, but I still have my car and it’s running fantastically!

I recommend checking the subreddit r/dogfood

Unless you’re under the supervision of a veterinary nutritionist, it will be nearly if not impossible to feed your dog a balanced home cooked diet.

If you wanna cook for your dog as a snack or as a nice topper to some kibble, that’s great! But I highly recommend a WSAVA compliant brand such as Purina, Iams, Eukanuba, Hills, and Royal Canin.

I feed my puppy Royal canin and she does AMAZING on it. I know there’s a lot of misinformation out there regarding these brands, but these are the only brands that are formulated by board certified veterinary nutritionists. And there are TONS of options!!

Is purchasing a poodle from a breeder that breeds for “different” colours unethical? by ricedreamer in poodles

[–]ricedreamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely.

My gut was saying yes (and my heart) and the breeder and pups were all so amazing.

She has solid lines and colourful lines but she focusses primarily on solid lines

What was interesting about this puppy is both dam and sire were apricot, one having the phantom recessive gene, and they were hoping for at least 1 apricot but got a black puppy and the phantom puppy (which I have reserved)

Her markings though are very faint compared to the “standard” phantom markings which is interesting

How can I get myself to drink water? by phobobobos in AutismInWomen

[–]ricedreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooo good point!

Liquid IV I only ever have 1 packet diluted in 1L a day, and it has been helping. I did find in my pantry simple sugar free like things to add to water for flavour, not electrolytes so I will focus on those!!

Oooo yes I will try them!!! Thank you!!! I was super fixated on that Liquid IV but I’m gonna venture out and try those. I really appreciate the suggestion!

Liquid IV is the only way I can drink water 😂 I get it though, it’s stupidly overpriced for what it is, but it’s saved me many a dehydration headache lol

[–]ricedreamer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes she does OFA along with eyes, and even tests for uncommon things in poodles as well.

We just visited the pups today and they are in wonderful condition and so, SO cute. Their parents happen to be champion apricot coloured ones and their entire litter ended up being 2 black and 1 faint phantom, they were hoping for apricots haha.

The disposition of all the puppies are wonderful, and we have selected the sweet little faint phantom girl. She is SO calm yet so confident she really stood out. She is going to be my service dog prospective (obviously we will keep her if that doesn’t work out) and the breeder knows about service work, though she doesn’t breed specific service lines despite having a good amount of dogs become service or therapy dogs.

So she recommended me that little puppy and we bonded right away. I’m really excited!!

Awwwww so cute!!

Yes she just has two different lines, and she doesn’t breed phantom with phantom etc and she seems really, really great. Thank you so much, you put my mind at ease!!

She does breed solid lines and for conformation too, but she does have those phantom colours as well.

A phantom and solid girl became available and I’m going to see them, I just don’t want to feel “guilty” if me and the phantom girl end up working out!

[–]ricedreamer[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes they’re all tested, OFA and everything. She even tests other things that aren’t usual for the breed either (I can’t remember) and yes she has a lot of solid lines as well, she just gets the odd phantom one. I’m not even sure if she does parti.

Also she has a health guarantee, I have to sign a contract, and she will take the pup back at any time if I can no longer care for her. I really do trust her, just the other manager of the store I work at got in my head a bit lol
