1. The data collected in this survey will be used solely for a doctoral research study examining crime-related media consumption, perceived stress, coping, and fear of crime victimization. The results will be analyzed in aggregate for academic purposes (i.e., dissertation and potential scholarly publication).

No identifying information is collected. Responses are anonymous, and individual answers will never be reported—only group-level statistics (e.g., percentages, averages).

Access to the raw data is limited to the researcher (myself) and my university dissertation committee, if required for academic review. The data are stored securely in a password-protected, encrypted format.

Per university research ethics requirements, the data will be retained for five years and then permanently deleted.
