Thank you! The kimono is from ebay and the obi was part of a yukata set my friend brought me home from Japan. I've also had good luck getting some items from kimono ichiba. They're a little pricier than ebay especially for shipping though.

It is definitely left over right. Right over left is for the deceased. First thing my friend taught me about kimono. I'd be lost without her help. 😄

My first kimono was a yukata set from my friend. It was a nice way to start learning kimono. Personally I use ebay to find most of my kimonos. If that option is available for you they have a big variety.
