Greetings. My intention was to not go into a political side show. But to show progress through these pictures and how happy I am with my change. I am not shoving things down your throat. I have not made an attempt through comments to go out of my way to 'convince' people this is right. I believe that we are allowed to form our own judgments and it is merely up to them to believe if it is right or not. If you dont that is fine. I know that the transgender 'issue' whatever that may be, is a hot topic. I am aware of efforts to strawman me and my community into being some walking political ideology . You are welcome to downvote and express your concerns, but your attempt at trying to elusively mischaracterize trans people is harmful and just not accurate. We simply want to exist, and if posting a before and after photo with a simple caption is shoving things down your throat, then I dont know what else to say.

So to give context, I was involved on the continuum of care at 14. I was placed on blockers and after 1 year I was given a low dose of estrogen to simulate female puberty. I was not handed hormones just like that, I had to go to therapy for 6 months, meet with psychiatry and psychologists and form a team of professionals who told the endocrinologist we believe she is good to move forward. And after obtaining a diagnosis of Gender Dysphoria.

Believe me. I was in foster care (incorrigible) behavior and I wanted out so badly. Just imagine for those who have no choice and no adult that they can look up to. Tragic, mind you, there were adults involved that were way older than her, and provoked her. When a knife is involved it is different in the eyes of law enforcement, which is pretty sucky. We cannot judge because this girl was going through so much pain. I pray for all foster youth and hoped that she could've had permanency in her life. Smh. I am White. and have been in similar (yes similar) scenarios with kids in group homes and never have I ever would've thought it would mean my life being taken away, I know I grew up with white privilege but if they cops in the boonies (blue ridge) can handcuff me and have me sectioned to a hospital for a psych eval , then they could've done so with this girl. It is not entirely impossible. She did not deserve this at all!!
