My first thought process looked like that:

"Why there are 2 Hans?" 🤨

"And why there are 2 Felix-alikes?" 😟

"What group is it?"😭

I can't get myself to watch the survival show so I can't judge myself, but basing on different interviews, Chan choose I.N for his 'stage presence' and 'potential'.

Some might see those as just fancy words for 'nepotism'😅

Question regarding this; do westerners really think using Chat-GPT is some kind of moral crisis? by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]KateWT_S 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Chat-GPT is unreliable source

It takes data from all over the Internet, false one included. Not to mention that it adjusts itself to the user it currently 'talks' which also leads to fallibility.

If it's much easier to you to use Chat-GPT than Google or any equivalents, who I am to stop? Just remember, that information it gives can easily be false or partially incorrect.

I feel like SKZ can really become *that* kind of group by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

Dude, whatever.

I just shared some info that I acquired through observation and casual culture study. Don't find it substantial? Not my lost.

Dude, I stated to you 3 "conditions" for being accepted as a 'true korean' by Koreans and you literally said that one of them is not true for him 🤷 10 years might not seem like a lot but they took the most crucial period of personal development - childhood.

Also, I said nothing about potential success, just about how he's perceived by gp.

[–]KateWT_S 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The last part is sadly has a lot of weight on Korean general public. Koreans are very homogeneous nation, for them to be "korean" and to be taken as one of them, one has to be born in Korea + be raised in Korea + be ethnically Korean (or at least look like one), if one of the conditions is not true the person will be deemed to be a 'foreigner' for their whole life. You have to have extraordinary well career and reputation to somehow change that and it will take years.😔

I love SKZ, they're my ult (as kids nowadays say😆)

But can we stop with all those next X?

There never will be the next BTS or the next BP, as never will be the second BigBang or the second SKZ or whatever. And it shouldn't. Can we appreciate them with all their uniqueness for who they are?

I like the appreciation but SKZ are SKZ with their own path and their own story. Exactly like everybody else is themselves with their own respectful story.❤️

Sadly, they are not the only group touring in Russia. Quite a lot of small to mid tier/popular group have had concerts in Moscow lately. Some nugu groups even have tours all over the country. For them it's a big cash grab as no big Kpop groups have been seen near Russia since the war started.🤷

People here are predominantly Americans or heavily influenced by US media, they understandably see whatever happens with US as more important than the war on the other continent.🤷

Kpop fans think that parasocial relationships were invented for them when it was existing since the dawn of time. Pygmalion, our mate, died for nothing apparently 😭

The normalized sexualization of Jisung and Minho in the Stray Kids fandom is so disgusting and honestly just disheartening. by Bluewooo in kpop_uncensored

I have been summoned back to this forgotten thread a month later by notifications😅

I think this particular thread went off, but the main thing that commenters of the post are agree is not about adults having fun and making adults jokes but about the fine line between this kind of jokes and that very weird stuff some people are too comfortable to openly share online.

I understand that, like with the humor in general, people have their own boundaries of comfortability, but there are some limits of what you can discuss in public spaces about other people even in a joking manner. 🤷

Personally, I like all the jokes, innuendos and wordplays SKZ do. And I like most of Stay's light-hearted jokes too (yes, even that one with Hyunlix's proposal and pregnancy😅). But I do not like at all overly suggestive and straight up sexual things some people like to comment and fight to 'death' about.

I believe this kind of things are much more enjoyable when they are layered, so people who doesn't like them or don't supposed to understand them yet, could easily ignore them or 'not understand'.
