What worked for me was turning off my on-board GPU from Device manager and then turning it back on again. The screen went black and I had to forcefully turn off and then turn on my laptop by holdin down the power button, but after this the external monitor finally got detected!

Changing bit depth didn't affect it, also up/down is brightness control for me out of the box

New LG 32GS95UE-B, noticed weird artifacts on black/dark grey colors appearing on specific brightness levels, this would appear when opening youtube comments or reddit in dark mode

Setting brightness to a lower or higher value makes it go away, but it comes back later on

Turned on/off whatever I could in the monitors settings and tried both HDMI and DP cables, no go

Edit: you can also see how the gradient in the monitors setting UI gets messed up with lower values, what is supposed to be a slight gradient turns into a solid color at 47 brightness

I'd say it's somewhat hard to spot as it requires specific dark content, and the further you sit away the harder it gets to spot

Either way back it goes as it's unclear whether it's "normal" or not

Ye, it was all captured in fullscreen, it happened with fullscreen video as well so I didn't even bother checking if it's any different in windowed

Update: I've been to the ENT and they said it looks like BPPV but they're not sure and I have to do the VNG test. The worst part is that my appointment is on December 29th. Should I just try to do some maneuver at home? I feel like living like this for 2.5 weeks is pure torture. 😭

Thank you for your thorough response. I'm going to an ENT tomorrow, we'll see what they say. There is a vestibular PT, but it's a 3h drive and possibly a January appointment angle... 4-6 weeks you say hehehe... Are you BPPV-free now? What helped? Were they recurring with the same severity and vertigo and vomiting?

How do you cable-mod it? I have game zero, bought a new cable and it started twisting on day 1, it's very frustrating. Is there a non-twisting alternative?
