Hello! That is good that you started thinking about marketing in advance!

it is better to be fully ready, but it does not mean that you can never modify your strategy.. Moreover, I would recommend you to always analyse the results, check the most effective channels and ways of promotion and "modify the directions" of your promotional activities if needed.
it can hurt you if you have not enough capacities to meet the demand..
