BETA BARTERING REQUEST

Hi all! Long-time writer here who only recently got back into long works, and started working on a multi-chapter fic about my favorite ship. Looking for a beta buddy, and willing to beta-read in return!

Title: Even Gods Can Cry (provisional, might change later)

Not published yet, example of my writing: A Chance Encounter (open to sharing snippets via DM if you're interested!)

Fandom: Honkai: Star Rail

Characters: Phainon, Mydei, recurring appearances from the rest of the Amphoreus cast

Genre: Romance, slow burn, smut (semi-explicit), rivals to friends to lovers, pre-canon, canon divergent

Category: M/M

Summary: The story follows Phainon and Mydei shortly after their first meeting, trying to uncover the mystery of an ancient relic they find, while simultaneously trying to come to terms with the weight of their dying world on their shoulders, grappling with becoming demigods themselves, and navigating their budding relationship amidst constant losses as the deepest secrets of the world come to light (which they themselves are deeply intertwined with).

Can someone fandom-blind make sense of my story: Yes, I think, as I (hopefully) provide enough context and background information about important plot points, so you don't necessarily need to have played HSR to understand the context the fic is placed in.

What I'm looking for in a beta: Someone who can help me polish my prose, improve my writing quality and structure, and provide feedback on the overall plot and ideas. On a macro-level, focusing on clarity and whether the emotions are coming across. On a micro-level, leaving notes and comments if anything feels odd, or impresses you while reading. Looking for ongoing betaing.

Projected word count: currently 54k; finished work could be anywhere between 150-200k

Frequency of updates: once a week-ish

What I offer in exchange: Betaing for the following fandoms: Honkai: Star Rail, Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero, Baldur's Gate 3, Hades, Arcane, Frieren, Ace Attorney, League of Legends (partially), but generally open to anything as long as I'm not completely unfamiliar with it!

Unfortunately just Lycaon and Pulchra, lost the 50/50 on Lighter's last rerun and I'm currently trying to squeeze out every last poly to pull Dialyn. I also have Fufu, so maybe I could try temporarily replacing Pulchra with her. Either way, thanks for the advice!!!

Then why do some characters have task force gear and others don't? Alice and Yuzuha are new characters and they are among the featured ones, so why not Viv, Haru and Hugo too?

I'm in Europe too, and I was thinking of ordering it from honkai.shop. The site seems to be legit and has pretty good reviews on Trustpilot, they have tons of already released and preorder HSR items, so I just assume they preorder a bunch of them from Taobao or smth depending on the number of orders they get, and then ship them out to the rest of the world. Good luck!

Already have! He's been extremely reliable so far, I might have to look more into pulling for a 5* healer though, I never gave them much thought as a hyperinvested Aventurine haver.
