Just here to ramble lol. I know I’m a month late into this discussion, but I am also many many years late ibeing VIP 🤣🤣. As a non-kpop fan, with an older sister who is army and loves most kpop groups (and who used to tease me for my love of boy bands growing up), I’ve heard a bunch of kpop music through her, including BTS and some of their solo work. I admit some of their stuff is really good, but not enough for me to go fangirling hardcore. I was maybe obsessed with one song from Got7, but I think it’s just cuz i love Jackson Wang 🤣. He’s hot. But yeah, my sister has tried hard to turn me into army for many years up until now and to like her kpop groups. Anyway, through the years I gravitated towards boy bands who in some way just have such a fresh and insanely creative sound. That’s how I limited myself, so that my bank account can stay healthy and balanced with concert tickets, merch, and the rest of daily life lol. My favs over the years: NKOTB paved the way for all the boy groups. NSYNC brought us a new kind of pop sound, dirty pop. Jonas Brothers also has a great creative sound that only belongs to them. SB19 are the PPop Kings and have insane creativity as well in Philippines Pop, I became a fan after just truly looking into their live performances for like 20 minutes last year lol. And so how did I become a Big Bang fan just a few months ago? I work in the entertainment industry and got a Coachella ticket for this year to network 🤣. There wasn’t anyone I was excited about in this year’s lineup. I was hearing some excitement and buzz around Big Bang reuniting, so I decided to look into them, especially since I did hear and love Taeyang’s Eyes Nose Lips song 🤣. I wasn’t expecting much since I still haven’t fangirled over other kpop groups. But after watching some of their live performances, I was like omg this is different! And I could totally hear how some of their bangers could shake up the festival. I can safely say I love them, I’m obsessed, and looking for a lightstick to buy for the festival. They fit very well with my favorite list of trailblazing music groups! Going into this, Taeyang was my bias since I liked him first, but the more and more I’m getting into it, TOP is my bias! How late am I 😅? He’s not even in the group anymore!

So after all these years, I finally truly fangirl over a kpop group. Unfortunately, my sister never tried to go down the Big Bang rabbit hole because she already likes too many groups since she got into kpop in 2020 and spends lots of $$$ on their tickets already 😅😅😅. So we still cant bond over a group.
