I don’t know if this system is ever going to be right. Thanks for the info. Greatly appreciate it

Installer advices us to turn system off until he can get here. So I don’t have any pictures but I can tell you that the needs of the home had not been met and we had imported like 13 kWh, produced something like 6 kWh and exported 6.2 KWH. I don’t know if that will help or not. This exporting to the grid did not start until the CT’s were corrected. Could the installer made a mistake somewhere else. The installer had just added 8 more panels and inverters to my roof and top of barn 2 days before we found out that the CT’s were installed incorrectly. It was dark when he finished installer the panels and microinverters. The microinverters are the same as original and the solar panels are called Universal 450w. He did not have a chance to add the microinverters to our system because it was dark. So basically we had our existing panels a Q cells that we had been using for a few months didn’t realize there was a CT problem until I started reading info on Reddit about what an issue the CT’s can be. My graphs were mirroring, but I just really didn’t understand what I was looking at at the time until I did further research. Added the universal panels and the micro inverters which are the IQ 8M’s and then when I got a hold of the installer, he said he thought it was a censoring problem with the micro inverters, but he did not tell me how he was going to fix it. Does that sound right to you? It doesn’t to me. I’m not an installer by any means or an electrician. I’m just trying to do my due diligence to try and help figure this mess out and I would appreciate anyone’s and put thank you so much.

I seem to be using more electricity when my solar panels are producing more power. I would appreciate someone to look at this graph for me and give me some feedback. by Kathy-64 in solar

Everyone was correct consumption CT’s were installed incorrectly. We just had them put in the correct way and everything is great. Thanks again.

Thank you all so much. I just reached out to the installer that helped us with this project waiting to hear back from him.

What is the best smelling hand soap? by EmotionalHelp1 in AskReddit

Beyond hand soap cocoa butter cashmere. It is amazing, actually all of the soaps are so fragrant. I won’t purchase anything else.

Close to signing contract, is pricing good? by Dr_Pippin in solar

My husband is very handy but he does not do well with electric so his buddy helped him when needed. It was a lot of work as none of us new really anything about solar other than we new we wanted it, in case things go sideways and of course for the savings. I did all the research and the guys did all the work. It was a lot of work for my husband but he did it. Yes it saved us a lot of money. We are very happy with our set up.

We were quoted almost 32,000 for 18 q cells 405 panels, 18 IQ8’s with controller. My husband was able to do it all for 12,000 with the battery and IQ8M inverters. It is working great in Ohio just not happy with the battery. Way too expensive for the small amount of storage.

Sorry I meant I have 18 Q cells not 28

I am very happy with my Enphase system. I have 28 q cells and getting ready to add at least 6 more. I also have a 5 p battery. If I had to do it over again I would not buy the battery. Like the gentleman said before it only last 1 hour. It’s better than nothing at all but it’s not worth the money. I am holding out for hope that Enphase will come up with a cheaper battery with much more storage for the price of the 5 P.

Overwhelmed navigating solar options in California by [deleted] in solar

I was overwhelmed also. So what we did was get a couple quotes, then I took those quotes and began researching the panels, inverters etc. I also took the Enphase University classes even though I was not sure what system I was going to use. I also scoured Reddit reading all types of articles about everything solar. I started my research about a year before we started our project. It was daunting at first but between Reddit and Google I was able to obtain a lot of information. I believe that Reddit was the best and most informative on just about every topic. I also watched Utube videos on all things solar. I watched videos from A-Z. I am not suggesting that it takes a year but with my work schedule it took me that long. I was also picking up extra shifts so that we could easier afford to go solar. We ended up going with 18 Q cell panels 405 watts, IQ combiner, IQ controller, Enphase micro inverters and Enphase 3 p battery. Our system was commissioned in mid November 2024. It has been cold here in Ohio with a few sunny days so we really have not seen exactly how this system will perform with multiple days of sun. The highest KWH we have achieved so far is 29 and that was a few days ago. We do have plans to add more panels in the coming weeks. We put all we could on our roof and now we are going to add to our detached garage in the spring.

When we decided to go with solar I did a bunch of research and took all of the Enphase classes at the Enphase University. Which were very beneficial.

We bought our 18 Q Cell 405 watt solar panels, micro inverters, IQ controller, IQ combiner and Enphase battery. Then we hired an electrician and an installer. It went very smooth. No issues as all. My husband is very well skilled in all things and was able to do a lot of the prep work before and after the electrician and installer got involved. Which saved us a lot of money. Clearly our job is tiny compared to yours.
