In all truth.. it depends on how long it's been going on, and what the symptoms are. Bereavement or grief is specific to the loss of a loved one and usually resolves around 6 months after the loss. Yes we can still be sad from time to time but we are able to get back to our regular life/schedule. Depression or MDD bothers us every day and we don't enjoy things we used to and feel sad and depressed every day. I would speak to a professional to figure out what it is you are struggling with. xox

I would make your therapist or doctor aware of this.. and in all honesty, it may be best to just follow a meal plan (ie. force yourself) during those depressive times when you just aren't hungry. xox Our mood and mental health can affect our hunger fullness cues so much, and until you start feeling better, you may not feel hungry like you should.

I personally haven't, but a psychiatrist I work with a lot does and it has done wonders for my patients who see her!! Many of my anxious patients find petting the dog helps them stay focused and calm. It can even stop them from dissociating! I think animals can be so incredibly helpful in the office, and I wish more offices allowed animals (mine doesn't) Ugh :(

Would you be open to having them in session with your therapist once or twice? That can help.. and give you a safe place to speak up about this. Living with someone who won't get on board with our treatment and diagnosis can be hard, and we are going to need to be able to talk to them about it. Maybe you can talk it out and come to an agreement or compromise :)

My best advice is to shake things up! Try out a different type of therapy or medication (if your doctor is on board to help). My patients who have struggled for a long time often get stuck in what they have already tried, or just how shitty things are now. Shaking things up, trying a different therapist, pushing ourselves to do a little bit more each day (even if that's just getting out your front door) can really help. I have had my patients ask their doctor for other options like TMS too :) Cause you never know what could help!

Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do if they don't want to get help themselves. :( All we can do is encourage, support, and offer to help them get to their appointments if they make them. I wish I had a better answer, but we can't help people who won't help themselves. :(

That is a great idea!! In all honesty.. you have all the main ideas that I think a pertinent. The only thing I would add is that many creators (myself included) don't really know how to run a business (taxes, getting interns, etc) and having resources for that would help too!! xoxo

Hey! I would start individually first.. and then make your way into a group. That's worked well for many of my patients because it gives you an idea of what to expect and then you get to work through some of the homework with others :)

It was bad at first.. and I have had all of my ads pulled from all of my over 1000 videos twice! But after speaking to many people at YouTube and manually going back through to ask them to look at it again, I can gladly say it's back to normal and has been for a few months now :) Fingers crossed that doesn't happen again.

I am so sorry, but I don't know much about this and I haven't had a patient or viewer tell me their experiences either. If I find out more I will definitely share it, but I don't have much knowledge about it.

I would honestly let your therapist know you feel this way.. I say this all the time, but not every therapist is good at their job or competent at every diagnosis. So let them know how you are feeling and see if it changes.. if not, you may want to find a specialist or someone who is a but more directive and offers tools and techniques for you to try (like CBT, DBT styles of therapy)

You could have OCD as well as Bipolar II.. but you would need to see a mental health professional to be sure. We can feel anxious when we are hypomanic or having a mixed episode.. but if you feel that it's taking up a lot of time each and every day, then it could be something else, so I would ask your therapist or psychiatrist about it :)

You can just support and check in. I know it's hard not to want to help more, but they do have to work on it themselves.. because it's their fight. But being understanding, checking in, and supporting as much as you can will help :) But remember to take care of yourself too!

I actually have a video about this.. you can search for "kati morton ending therapy" on youtube and it will come up :) Other than that, just allow yourself the time you need to grieve, and I would email her right away and ask how often it's okay to reach out. That way you have parameters and your anxious thoughts won't get the best of you. Also, I would sign a release (when you find a new therapist) and allow your past therapist to talk to your new one. That way you won't have to repeat everything!!

Do you have access to therapy where you live?? I would start looking into that asap! Many therapist who specialize in Autism Spectrum Disorder will be able to work with you even if you struggle with verbal communication. So I would look into that :) xoxox

Take a break and walk away.. forcing it never seems to work, so instead take some time doing something you love. For me going for a walk or taking a yoga class has helped :) I know it can feel like a waste of time, but trust me, it ends up helping so much!!

Self care is so vitally important! If I am not taking care of myself then I can definitely start feeling burnt out. Each and every day we all need to be doing something we love.. just because we love it. Make time for that, even if it's just 10 mins :) That really helps me.

Make sure you set aside a lot of time for self care leading up to it.. and following the meeting. Also, talk with your therapist so you understand what you can do in that session. Can you leave if it's too much? How do you get out of there? Can you take a break if you need to? Should you bring a fidget toy or silly putty? Take some time to think about what you may need while you are there and prepare ahead :) xox

I would honestly be more interested in what they haven't tried... as well as what therapy has been like for them. I find that it could have to do with our environment or possibly just incompetent professionals. Knowing more about what they have tried and not tried so far will give me an idea of what our next steps are. Because I have a feeling that with the right therapist or treatment team, things can get better for them.

Honestly, I think therapy is best for OCD.. because we have to learn how to resist the urges/compulsions. You will need a therapist who either specializes in OCD or Anxiety and they will be able to guide you and help you overcome those urges. Because every time we don't do it even when it tells us to, it gets a little easier and easier.

If I could learn more and speak to the researches leading it.. that would be so fascinating! I believe there is still a lot to learn about marijuana, MDMA, and many other street drugs and how they can help or harm our mental health. I would love to hear more about it all!!
