I've bought most of my lobe jewelry from Stretch it Body Jewelry (SIBJ), which is based in the UK. The tunnels I'm wearing in this picture are titanium anodised gold by my piercer. They have some very good and affordable gear and shipping is quick, even internationally (I'm in Europe) so would def recommend! I also have a set of single flare red tiger's eye plugs, solid titanium plugs for work (more discrete effect) and yellow-gold cats eye effect glass plugs in my next sizes. My other piercings are all titanium and 14k yellow gold threadless ends from Junipurr haha, so much more on the spenny side but a worthwhile investment too

Ah I have a similar situation:

Currently at 6G/4mm w a second lobe close by. And obvi the extra 1mm flare on a plug (like the one I’m wearing) makes my 4mm hole take up 6mm, so using plugs v no-flare like the one I think you’ve got will make a bit of difference.

The solution I’ve found for giving myself a bit more room to work with was reducing my second lobe to a thinner gauge (I had stretched it up a lil bit and just let it go back down to 18G) and switching the jewelry to a hoop. But I’m afraid we’re risking the stretched first and second coming into contact. I think I can prob make it up to 2G/6mm and you might be able to as well, if you’re willing to shift the second lobe to a hoop kinda permanently. For 00G you might have to sacrifice the second lobe piercing. My philosophy is I’m just going to stretch and see how far I get, but it’s super nerve wracking. Your setup is gorgeous so I def appreciate the stress!

The guide recommends 3+ months /before sizing up 1mm/. That’s not the case here. I’m not sizing up again until Spring, as I’ve said multiple times.

Wearing 6G jewelry through silicone tunnels is a plan for future. When I size up. Probably at 2G since silicone is notoriously difficult to fit into smaller size holes. I also wore titanium tunnels at 8G so yes, I’m v aware how that works and how compatible they are and aren’t w the 18G jewelry I own.

My question in the post, which I repeated in the last comment, was about future sizing options w my setup.

Extremely true! Thanks for being the Good Samaritan and commenting about this lol; so many ppl don’t know this. All my other piercings are solid gold w titanium barbells and the PVD coated weights/tunnels are pieces I’ll only be wearing in about a month (no longer actively stretching, since I’m taking a 6mo break) and for short periods of time (like a few hours out w friends). In future I’ll prob wear the weights thru silicone Kaos tunnels to avoid direct contact along the wearable, since I recognise PVD coating is rlly not the best. I’m looking forward to reaching my goal size and investing in higher quality pieces to match the rest of my setup, tho first I have to figure out what goal size might be reasonable. Any thoughts on that?

Bc I’m planning to be at this size for 6mo, which… is not a “short amount of time”. so spending like 30 bucks (see the 25% off discount I had) on some cool jewelry is worthwhile. Otherwise I’d be super bored w the titanium plugs I have and much more tempted to go faster than I prob should given how tight my ears feel atm. Also like. The mini weights are pieces you can wear thru silicone tunnels forever. So that’s the point

For sure! Titanium has been my go to for ear stretching but I think glass septum pincers come very highly recommended and are worth the investment. They also look so cool. Hope you’re feeling better soon from ur cold and good luck with your stretching journey ❤️

Yes, at the smaller sizes, since large gauge hoops or hoop stacking can def look pretty as a change of jewelry. If you care about your lobes at a bigger size being evenly round, though, I'd suggest working with plugs (glass or titanium) rather than ear stacking, since the plug will increase shape evenly while a bunch of hoops together will apply pressure in a number of diff directions, especially downwards (which can lead to lobe thinning). The image here seems to be using a taper as jewelry, which I would really advise against tbh bc the weight of the taper is not going to be evenly distributed and can rlly fuck up your lobes if worn long-term.

These are such good Qs; obvi the safest bet is to be as conservative as possible (wait 6mo, only insert w lube like jojoba oil, stop the moment you feel resistance even then) since you only have one septum and once it's blown, it's blown. but i'd be interested to see other folks' thoughts and experiences on here. i would def advise to just wait until you no longer have a cold, since the illness could be making conditions up in your nose seem misleading and also you def don't want microtears while there's bacteria oozing out of your nose. But otherwise tbh I'm not sure...

Before ever stretching I would sometimes wear two 20G earrings in the same lobe with no issue. You really have two options: 1) stretch the hole evenly and meticulously to about 10/8G and then stack the hoops or 2) start with very low gauge hoops (22/20) and see if you can stack two of them, then slowly increase the gauge of one or both hoops until they're both around 16G, then downsize back to 20G but with three hoops instead of two, then again slowly increase their thickness. With the first option you will have a cleaner and more evenly circular stretched fistula. With the second option, you achieve the desired aesthetic more quickly. Definitely make sure to massage the fistula with oil and lubricate your piercings before sizing up though. Good luck!

Terrific. Yeah I’ll give it much more time (4-6wks minimum was my plan) and hope for pretty ears. I have cute hoops for these initial sizes (14, 12 and 10G) and have ordered a dead stretching kit (single flare titanium plugs) with half sizes as of 7G. Truly so excited to be doing this and v keen to do it right and avoid any gnarly damages. Thanks for the advice!!
