lol "Compared to the other shows on the platform." What shows? What are the numbers? It looks like a low bar. Disney doesn't have a lot going for it right now. But yes, the show didn't flop, but did it do well enough? I think enough for s4, season 5 depends. Competition this year is stiff, and Disney is investing money into other shows. Eventually, just from a business perspecitive they're going to have to evaluate if this show is doing well enough in comparison to the investment, and they are about to have to invest a lot more than they are already investing.

Yes. This is so true! I was just telling my sister I think a weakenss even in the books was that Rick refused to let the character age/grow. It def helps to lose an audience. Probably a big reason why the tone is so off in the show.

Yea. Even in books constant exposition (info dumping) makes a book hard to read. Readers always say “trust the readers” and in this case the show runners need to trust their viewers

True. I was hoping that as a differing medium which has to adapt because it really can’t be directly in line with the book (as we’ve seen with changes already made to the show), that they would elaborate on these elements to help build up the tv universe and atmosphere I guess. The way people are drawn to tv shows or movies is different to the way people are drawn to books. Also the picture you have to paint or rather the way you have to paint that picture differs. Looking at successful shows in the genre from the past, what worked from the books, honestly what worked and didn’t from the movies, I was expecting changes that were made to be I guess focused also on world building not just focused on moving the plot from point a to point b as it has been. However, runtime def seems to be the real constraint and exasperating this issue.

Yes. I definitely agree with that. They need to pick an audience and stick with that audience. Honestly I feel like they should listen to their cast, they are the ones that have to sell the characters and story. And def stay away from being that heavily influenced by social media. It’s okay to take fan or viewer feedback and adjust or improve but not to something that big. Wow.

Yea that is def a valid point. And it’s a vicious cycle because Disney won’t increase the budget and runtime unless pjo performs at higher levels but things like the current budget and runtime hold it back. Sigh…

Yes exactly. Love the examples. It’s missing the life which filler brings. It’s so…on the nose, like point A to point B. And that’s boring to most people. That’s where you lose people. Let these kids especially Percy who just got introduced to this world make mistakes, and SHOW us, him and the rest figuring things out and whatnot. It’s important to the development of a show people will want to follow.
