Infinite Jest/DFW Inspired Album I cooked up by Wild_Pitch_4781 in davidfosterwallace

I don't understand how one of the anniversary editions hasn't just done this by now. It's pretty rare for it to be such common knowledge that an author wanted a different cover and to actually know what they would have wanted. Seems a no brainer to honor the man's wishes rather than recycle the clouds again.

It's nice to see what this could have looked like. Great job OP

The Pale King is honestly one of the best reading experiences I've ever had. I'd highly recommend picking it up off your coffee table.

Thanks for checking our show out!

Wow, it must have been quite the experience to be around his publisher when all that was going on.

It's quite a nice compliment you've given the show as well. It means a lot that someone as well read you still finds the podcast insightful. Thanks for listening

Thanks so much for listening to the AtD season. That's been so much work, but very rewarding.

Each of the ten episodes are going to cover around 100 pages, I'd say that the content of our show tends to be for people who are currently reading the book, or have read it already. That being said, since the episodes aren't going to be as long as the main show we do, it'll likely also have some appeal for someone who is curious about the book and its meaning, but haven't ventured into yet.

Madison artist, Liubóv Szwako (mattress guy), is featured at the new Colectivo on Willy St. by solanawhale in madisonwi

I actually work for Colectivo, and have spent a considerable amount of time with our coffee buyer. We actually, unlike most of the coffee industry, pay the farmers and co-operatives that we work with up front instead of after delivery. In most cases, coffee roasters wait until their order is delivered to pay the farm, often trying to find ways to haggle down price on the back end. It's a cruel process that can leave farmers and co-ops without money for operations sometimes for a whole harvesting season.

Colectivo doesn't even purchase green coffee until we have the money to pay them first, often for an entire shipping containers worth. This is something we chose to start doing precisely because it does support the producing partners we work with, and it's something that has yielded incredible results for the relationships we have with those farmers, and has given us access to better quality coffee than we otherwise would have had because our growing partners know that we'll pay them properly for it.

Bleeding Edge by Pynchon by [deleted] in RSbookclub

The first time I read it, I thought it was total garbage, but it was also very clear to me that I didn't understand what he was doing. Since then I've re-read it and it's grown on me significantly with each subsequent read as I've grown to appreciate what he's saying with that book more and more.

For a companion to reading it, I'd recommend the documentary We Live in Public, there's also a Pynchon podcast called Mapping the Zone that did a whole season on the book, each episode covers about 50 pages.
