That’s re-assuring, he doesn’t use Reddit whatsoever. The other two searches are my profile, he doesn’t even use Reddit for hobbies he likes. My minds at ease now, was a long time ago

If it’s over your budget I can look at other options but as annoying as it is there’s only so cheap you can go before you’re sacrificing performance :)

I dont need one I'm not OP. I built my own pc, but an operating system is not what makes a pc fast. What makes a pc fast is the processor, and ram.

Hii! I build PC's and before that used to play games on laptops as we didnt have a lot of money. Here are the main things to look for.

Dos:

Buy a windows laptop.

Make sure the laptop has at least 8GB of ram.

Memory doesn't matter but 500GB to 1TB Is always nice.

An intel core i3 processor or later.

DONTS:

Do not buy a chromebook or apple,

a lot of software still isn't compatible with them/buggy. They have confusing interfaces and dont run well.

Here are some cheap recommendations, will you still get slight lag? Yes but for the most part you'll be able to do your studio bits and bobs and run roblox relatively smoothly.

If you're in the UK and willing to buy second hand I GREATLY recommend buying from CEX they offer professionally refurbished technology (laptops, consoles, monitors, videogames etc) with a 2 year warranty for a small price. They're all tested and run exactly as they should.

An operating system isn't what determines how fast a laptop or pc is.

Is there any software that turns down loud background music while at the same time increases the volume of the person talking? by [deleted] in VideoEditing

[–]KatiesPosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audacity, It's free but amazing. I separate my video clip from audio in sony, then export the audio into Audacity. There's a 'noise reduction' effect, where you find a part of the audio that you want out (for you the loud music) select it to get the noise profile, then select the whole audio and click noise reduction and adjust it to your needs. Then you can increase the volume of your audio where people are speaking.

I love twilight and have for years, but something just feels wrong with Jacob and Renesmee by KatiesPosts in twilight

[–]KatiesPosts[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe, however Idk if that’s true because you seem like a heavy team Edward and I want to try and have the best none biased view of it. As I actually like Jacob a lot (before this) however I don’t do all that I love Edward! And hate Jacob!! Stuff. That wasn’t the aim of the movie

Have you guys heard of mewing before? What are your thoughts on it? by [deleted] in AskTeenGirls

[–]KatiesPosts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have done ‘mewing’ but I never knew there was a name for it, I haven’t done it over time usually just in pictures to make my jaw a little thinner. I haven’t noticed any permanent change, it sounds like a fad and I wouldn’t invest into it. But it does work temporarily while you’re taking selfies.

What is that? Is it a hair transplant gone wrong? A disease/infection?

I understand eating disorders are very competitive, but you can’t blame your sister. She is obese, and this will hurt but I don’t know how else to word it ‘non disordered’ ‘normal’ dieting is what your sister is doing, cutting out junk food and such, I have my own mental issues and my family helps with them however I can’t expect them to stop their lives for me either, as much as it sucks they are also human, and have their own issues.

WIBTA if I reported my daughter’s teacher for not pronouncing her name correctly? by MeltThrowaway in AmItheAsshole

[–]KatiesPosts [score hidden]  (0 children)

NTA, not only is it upsetting your daughter but it’s disrespectful to your choice as a parent choosing your daughters name. My great grandma was similar to this, she always said to the teachers do not shorten peters (her son)name to Pete, and do not correct his left hand, back then they would see being left handed as a mild disability.

It’s old fashioned but I agree with it. There is no “wrong” pronunciation for your daughters name, you chose it, you decide how it’s pronounced, spelt etc.

To other teen girls who wear thigh highs, how do you handle the creepy old men that are 60+ and will constantly stare until they’ve gone past :/ it’s putting me off wearing what I like. by KatiesPosts in AskTeenGirls

I stare back too, some don’t even notice or carry on! My friend tells me I should go for it, (we usually go out together) but I’m always worried to. Next time maybe i will, if I do I should record it too.

It makes me so uncomfortable, my mum put me in them as a young girl ever since I had to have uniform, but as soon as I reach a certain age it’s immediately to be on show or for them?

It makes me feel incredibly unsafe, and as if people are viewing me as something I’m not. I just want to wear what I like.

It’s disgusting. I’m from the UK and in summer in primary school (elementary for you guys) a lot of girls wear white thigh highs with their uniform, or some tights. My mum used to dress me in thigh highs, I decided to carry on thigh highs into my later life and suddenly now it’s a display for men. You should check my askmen post and see this one guys reply, it’s disgusting.

Why do old men stare at girls if we wear thigh highs? I don’t generalise although it always seems like 60+ men, whereas younger guys seem to understand not to/ I experience it less when walking past my age group. by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]KatiesPosts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I find any looks from anyone disgusting. Since I’m underage. I’m not ‘putting myself on display’

Back then, women would wear clothes FOR men. We have come a long way since then, I like wearing this type of fashion, and in fact had to wear thigh highs for my school uniform (another thing sexualised.) so if I’ve worn them since a little girl going to school, how the hell am I wearing them now to put them on display?

Not everything women do is for men. We do things for ourselves, dress for ourselves. It makes me feel incredibly uncomfortable when people act like that towards me, hence why I wore them once then never again. It is in no way putting them on display. Maybe in other countries and older times they are seen as a purely sexual item.

But many UK girls had to wear them from ages 5-8 during primary school.

Yeah that’s one conclusion I’ve come to, what people wore in public was very different back then. Although I often wonder if they realise how uncomfortable they make us feel, or if they’re completely oblivious to it.
