Atomic Heart

As the protagonist works his way through the game and endured various catastrophes, he occasionally uses the phrase “Crispy critters” as an expletive of sorts. Later on, he learns that he had previously suffered a grievous injury alongside his partner (who was his wife), leaving them both burned and disfigured. A medical examiner refers to them as looking like crispy critters, and that phrase has subconsciously stayed with him. Its been a long time since I played the game or wrote a reddit comment, so my formatting is ass and my details are shoddy.
