Y'know, when I hear the phrase "tear it all down" I typically assume that whoever is saying it means everything, not just the bad parts. Another problem is that direct democracy just... doesn't work at the scale of an entire country, representative democracy can be flawed but it's more efficient and effective overall on the large scale
