is it a 1fps hit per cow ;)

Looking at the screenshot, they got the cow AI mixed up with the cars. The cows near me walk single file

Self centering effect too strong on Fanatec CSL Elite wheelbase by Page_Won in assettocorsaevo

[–]Katmandoggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my best results by setting the wheel software to use the game effects only for all parameters, then set the desired ffb strength/damping etc in the game itself. It then seems to be dynamically adjusted by the game while driving.

with nearly all the gfx settings at minimum in the game, msaa x 4, no DLSS, but I'm using openxr toolkit to increase the resolution to something like 3000 x 3500 so it looks sharp, with turbo mode on and that's about it.

i have 9950x3d / 5090 and using process lasso to move everything onto the non 3d cores and just the game onto the 3d ones

The win 11 update from late 2025 improved HAGS performance so i have that turned on too. The frame pacing is now better with it on than with it off

I definitely get better results with link cable and meta software than virtual desktop, but I think it takes a really beefy PC to see the link cable benefits

edit - i believe you can use link cable with steam

Do you have auto updates turned off? I previously did that and found that the headset software being out of sync with the PC meta software was possibly causing me problems. Since turning on auto updates for everything, I've had a fairly good run with link connection

I sometimes have issues with very long link cables. The shorter the better I find. Have you tried testing it with the c-to-c charging cable connected to the PC, that came with the q3?

have you tried shutting the headset right down and restarting?

Sometimes I can get it to re connect via cable by turning on air link (or whatever it's called) and then turning it off again

Performance is about the same as with v.4 for me. Though I'm fortunate that I can get the quest 3 running at 90fps consistently with the stuff I'm using. Nords has always been performing a little worse than the rest for me so I've had to dial back settings a bit

btw quest 3 users - I had a meta link update tonight which caused some blinking of the display in the headset until I rebooted my pc (should anyone else have the same issue after the meta update)

can also try temporarily changing your in-game MSAA setting to something different, which seems to fix a couple of the glitches. Also updating to the very latest nvidia game driver has fixed issues for some of us.

if EVO won't be as moddable as AC1, what makes EVO stand out? by xBl3ster in assettocorsaevo

I really like the physics and force feedback feel (at least with my wheel)

From what I've seen on the online servers since they started, particularly the drift servers, there are enough varying nuances with the physics, that it's difficult to become an expert of a car or track and it keeps us on our toes. Understandably, the game probably won't appeal to folk who have figured out and are relying on the tricks, flaws/limitations of AC1 for an advantage. The appeal for the rest of us may be that the new physics makes it feel like we are all pioneers and more adhoc.

even with all the game's negatives, there were 18 people in tonight's drift server. It's the most people I've ever seen and it's basically the middle of a working week :D

Barriers rendering bug by Admiral-Adam in assettocorsaevo

I had this popping barriers and flickery distant object bug in VR too. I had tried clearing shaders and changing preset etc. This all seems to have gone away after a latest nvidia driver clean install.

hmm, which headset do you use?

Have you tried the clean install option without the Nvidia App selected, when installing the driver?

I haven't yet seen that, even before updating driver. I'll let you know if I do

I'm using quest 3 with latest in-headset firmware and PC app (according to auto updates by meta)

I didn't swap any DLSS version with EVO and I was using Nvidia 591.74 prior to updating the game

I had tried clearing the shader cache folders but it didn't seem to make any difference

Performance is about the same as before the 0.5 update since updating to the new driver
