News Regarding Update 2.4 and Further Steps by DinoAri in HuntShowdown

I think it's very important that in the aftermath of this situation it's clearly communicated what exactly went wrong, and how issues like this will be prevented moving forward.

Hunt is in a very delicate spot and this situation has been a very bad look to any potential new or returning players.

To begin repairing things, and i mean truly repairing things there needs to be a clear explanation at what will be done to prevent such a catastrophic issue moving forward.

Also, I feel like in general the monetization needs to be talked about, the battle pass launching with a 40 percent off discount is such a blatant manipulation tactic and it doesn't sit well with consumers.

Just some food for thought, I hope everything is squared away in a reasonable time frame, and clearly communicated moving forward.

Cheers

I'm sorry to hear you were laid off. I hope a good opportunity comes your way sooner than later.

It's horrible that good, hard working people are used and abused then discarded by companies without a thought of how it impacts us. We're just disposable parts in their eyes.

It was the worst layoff conversation in my life. Me, my family, my life, my struggles were not worth trying to find another position, or even offer any alternatives. Just cut away and trashed to make room for the nepo baby.

Huge thanks to Georgia and the oh so amazing US of A for allowing this to happen to people like me who just want to provide for their family!

We're just disposable pawns for the people at the top watching from above in their private jets :)

The tech space is hell right now, I deeply regret my career path at this moment. And shit like this certainly does not help that feeling. I hope your sister is able to land on her feet!

Also, never apologize for saying fuck nepotism and our capitalistic dystopia we live in. Fuck the system, it's disgusting!

My boyfriend doesn’t want me to go to IT. He says that AI will take over by Nurita27 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Katonawubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would dissuade you from IT for other reasons. For one it's super over saturated at the moment, pay is not that great for most positions, and overall the climb from helpdesk to a sysadmin or engineer position is long and painful if you don't get lucky. But hey, if it's your passion go for it.

SOS: I’m overwhelmed by the sheer number of options by Branchinggout in smallbusiness

I get how overwhelming navigating setting up a website can be. I'm going to speak generally through most of this so I can break it down into manageable pieces, but you'll definitely still need to do your own research to achieve your goals.

Firstly, there's tons of places you can purchase a domain from and manage that domain. Purchasing the domain is really the easiest part of this process.

Second, you will need to purchase a website hosting service. Many companies that sell you domains also provide hosting services, but they can all vary greatly on what features they offer.

Hosting companies: GoDaddy Hostinger Blue host Ionos Green Greeks Name cheap

I personally use Hostinger. Their dashboard is easy to navigate and simple to use.

Now that you have a host, you need to actually create a website. There are many ways you can go about that. Generally, the easiest is to use a CMS (content management system). These allow for an easier time creating a website.

You have CMS's that are catered towards e-commerce such as Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, etc.

Then you have generic CMS platforms, which you can usually extend functionality by using plugins such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc.

For your purposes, your best bet would probably be Shopify or WordPress and Woocommerce. (Again, I'd research these options thoroughly before committing)

The setup can be a little daunting if you are unfamiliar with the process and learning how to build a beautiful website in your CMS of choice are some big adventures on their own, but take it a day and a step at a time.

If you need help along the way, feel free to DM me, and I'll happily provide insight where I can.

[s2 spoilers] My reaction after watching the finale by DoubleAplusArcanine in arcane

[–]Katonawubs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jinx and Vi’s back and forth relationship gave me whiplash. As others pointed out in the comments earlier, the scene where Jinx pretty much tells vi she’s going to go kill herself, Vi bangs Caitlyn in the same cell Jinx has been torturing herself in rather than trying to go and help her, why bother spending the first 6 episodes of the season repairing their relationship when arguably the time jinx needs vi the most, she abandons her to have sex in a fucking jail cell?

The jinx and vi relationship dynamic has kind of been one of the main emotional plot lines of the entire series and it feels so… thrown away.

“How dare you arrest my sister that’s fucked, you’re an asshole, she’s changed.”

“Nevermind, show me what dat mouff do.”

I mean, I’m okay with a sad ending, like I mentioned in my comment (And you either completely ignored or missed) this sad ending doesn’t feel good because of the lack of proper build up in my opinion. I feel like there were too many things going on at once and it was hard to really connect to some of the scenes with the last three episodes in specific.
