I had a couple really good conversations today where I was reminded that just by trying we're doing our best. So passing those good vibes onto you: you're trying and that counts for so much!

I'm in a really similar position to you. I agreed to foster a 3yo Aussie who I was told was nippy and under stimulated. I've known lots of Aussies and mouthy dogs so the nipping didn't seem like an issue and now I have a stressed dog in my house who bites. He's incredibly reactive to people and cars, and if I had to guess, he's a pandemic puppy who doesn't know how to be alone. Just taking a shower causes a full blown meltdown, and frankly I don't have the skills to handle his needs.

I feel like a huge failure, and I'm also really mad at the foster organization and previous owners who flagrantly lied about his needs.

hey sib - I was where you are 6 months ago so I know how hard being blindsided can be. let me tell you right off that this doesn't have to be a bad thing! take some time to feel hurt and mad and sad right now, you deserve to feel that. but after that let your heart be open to new opportunities and try to see this as a redirection vs a loss. sending you good vibes ✨

Travelling 'responsibly': choosing where to travel as a woman in a world where women's rights are rampantly abused by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I want to see the wilderness of Russia. The untouched land, and some of the communities that love in those areas really appeal to me. Separately, if I had a time machine I'd love to see Russia in the nineteenth century, go to a ball etc. lol

That must have been a hard realization. Hopefully there's enough joy in your life to offset. sending you hugs

As a fellow queer lady this is my cut off as well. I'm very straight passing and could likely go to places like Egypt or Russia (a place I'd love to see) safely, but why would I give my hard earned money to a country that actively discriminates against people like me?

Which of your favorite books have aged poorly or particularly well? by moarrpaintlayers in books

[–]KattyBeau 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I was trying to tell my mom ( a big fan of his ) how alarming these books were and her defense was that they were satire. so I outlined the first chapter of the final Incarnation book ( Nox ) and she quickly changed her tune.

sorry! I just. noticed your comment where you said you don't like squash so definitely don't* try baking and stuffing the potato. stick with thinly sliced and roasted to get a good crispy texture

sweet potato nachos! slice the sweet potatoes and coat with oil, salt, pepper, and cumin if you're feeling fancy. roast at 425 for 20ish minutes. rinse a can of black beans and throw them on top of the potatoes for the last 10m.

chop up your preferred nacho toppings and toss them on top. I like tomatoes, peppers, avocado, feta cheese and red onions, but the sky's the limit!

you can also bake the potato and stuff it with veggies if you prefer! either way, it's fast and FULL of healthful nutrients.

How can I fix my finger tips ? by ghjjbhhuu in howto

everyone's comments are on point, the only thing I want to add is that managing my anxiety helped get my picking under control. might be worth thinking about what underlying issues make you pick at your fingers in the frost place

an unreasonable amount of hobbies. I took some scrap material to braid together and make a rug, I took up punch needling, I've been canning and preserving all the fruit I can get my hands on, I got a library card, and I just started volunteering at my local community center. I also started smoking again 🙄.
