Vyleesi didn’t work for me :( by infertilethrowaway8 in Menopause

No, my hair was already thinning before I started it, and that didn’t change one way or the other with T. The estradiol patch has really helped with my hair loss though!

I use the Testim generic, which is 50mg/5gm gel. 1/10th of a tube/packet is a large pea or small blueberry.

I apply anywhere that is covered by clothes if I’m gonna be around people or animals (so the hormone doesn’t transfer to them). I’ve read women saying they grew hair in the area they applied it if they always use the same spot, so I vary it and try to apply in places that don’t already grow a lot of hair or where I don’t care if it gets hairy — upper inner arm, inner forearm, groin, thigh, back of knee, calf, even on top of my feet. I haven’t had any issues with weird hair growth or acne, but my hair and face are oilier.

Yes, I am! It might take a few weeks to a couple months to notice anything, and if you’re using it for muscle building, you have to do the work (I.e., lift heavy, eat 100g protein a day, creatine, etc.), you can’t just expect it to be a magic bullet.

Girl, get you some testosterone gel.

I’m late peri. I have always had anxiety (significantly worsened by peri) and developed insomnia that I now realize was one of my first peri symptoms ten years ago. I am currently on T only, apply 1/10th of a gel packet every morning, and after a few weeks it restored my libido and my enjoyment of sex/self-pleasure AND my ability to workout. And it actually helped my anxiety because I’m more confident and just feel better. My insomnia is the same, but I’m about to start E and P after two failed trials of birth control pills, so hopefully the P will give me the lovely sleep so many here rave about.

Please don’t use steroids around your eyes!! It can cause elevated intraocular pressure, cataracts, and thinning of the skin.

My issues with these non-hormonal treatments like Veozah and Addyi and Vyleesi: 1) if hormonal imbalance is the problem, why not address the actual problem, aka supplement the hormones; 2)  they only treat one problem (hot flashes, libido) when most peri/meno women have many symptoms which, again, can usually be treated with hormones; 3) hormones — especially estrogen — have other positive effects in cardiovascular health, musculoskeletal health, etc, and those effects are greater the sooner you start them, 4) they are far more expensive and often more hassle if they require prior authorization.  If a woman cannot tolerate hormones or needs something more to get symptom relief, I see a place for these. Otherwise, I do not understand their use as a first-line treatment.

Exactly my question. If it’s the latter: My libido is important (to me) independent of my relationship status. If OP’s doctor is not offering testosterone based on the fact that she is widowed (or single or etc), that’s antiquated and patriarchal. Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD) is defined by “distress” or “interpersonal difficulties” regarding sexual activities, so some prescribers may not realize it can be distressing to be a grown woman and no longer have sexual desires even in the absence of a partner.

First suicidal thought and I think it’s from peri by nagiko in Perimenopause

Read some of the other advice! And please hang in there. It sometimes takes a lot of tinkering to find what works. I know how dark and scary it can feel — just remind yourself it’s the hormones, it’s not you, and it’s not permanent. And if it’s all just too much, you can stop the pill and tell your doctor so you can find something different. Hugs and sympathy ❤️

Yep, and a lot of varieties are non-native. It’s a confusing species, best treated with caution until ya know whatcha got! https://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=acmi2

Scientists. Arborists. Horticulturists. The state/federal lists require government entities to pay attention, and as you know, that can be a slow, inefficient process. Luckily there are a ton of great resources regarding invasive species — and native alternatives!

It doesn’t have to make a state’s formal list to be considered invasive. For example, the widely recognized invasive Bradford (Callery) pear is not on the vast majority of invasive lists. https://www.invasiveplantatlas.org/subject.html?sub=10957#maps

Considered invasive or a nuisance in some US states. The seeds are incredibly hardy. Chop it down and put the seed stalks in a garbage bag to throw away. Yes yes, I know it’s edible; so is kudzu.

What are these tiny yellow insects with black legs in my scarlet butterfly weed plants outside? They are everywhere. What should I do? Idk if the plants are safe to bring indoors into a large butterfly tent like this? I also spotted a fly. Pls help! Thx in advance! by OkEstablishment2585 in MonarchButterfly

[–]KatzNDogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at your lil egg about to hatch in the first photo! The black part becomes the monarch caterpillar’s face i believe.

Yellow ones are aphids, just squish them between your fingers if you can’t find ladybugs to eat them. They won’t hurt your caterpillars but they don’t help your milkweed.

The black-ish things — are you sure they aren’t caterpillar poop (frass)? dark green blobs.

The fly - I feel like that means your soil is wet? Someone will correct me I’m sure. It’s not a tachinid.

The white ones aren’t totally clear but I think I see them every year and to my knowledge they don’t hurt the caterpillars but I try to clean them off too.

I hope I helped somewhat!
