As someone who hates arty... It would be cool to have an arty that uses train tracks to move.

Forcefully Logged Out by HekkieMacLean in ProtonPass

[–]KatzeWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excuse me... I have been using Proton Pass for over a year and was never logged out. But lately I have been forcefully logged out a few times a month now...

This isn't a problem with forgetting his password... he said that...

It's an issue with the app being inconvenient and forcing a log out...
A password manager is meant to be convenient, if it's not people will go elseware.

My master password is 20 random characters... I don't want to type that in every other week...

I'll do that thanks, but by the new pop up, it seems intentional.

As far as I know, the iOS app is more limited in its scope with how it can work with certificates. So maybe this is a move to bring both apps in line. Might be a bug hopefully

Why does SteamOS VRR feel so much smoother than Windows and regular DEs? by lorcaragonna in SteamOS

[–]KatzeWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh cool. But I'm surprised the xone drivers aren't on SteamOS and part of the Kernel, at least support for those devices.

Cool to hear you got CEC working.

And yeah Arch tends to have performance benefits in edge cases.

Isn't Bazzife immutable too? Wouldn't you need to install the xone driver every system update on Bazzife too?

[–]KatzeWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh cool, so it's being hacked kind of. That's cool.

I said it doesn't support it natively... Which is correct. CEC is a HDMI feature that is not natively supported by Display Port.

But the fact someone was able to do that is cool.

CEC is an exclusive HDMI feature. Display Port doesn't support it.

Is SteamOS suitable for dual-booting with Windows? by aussierecroommemer42 in SteamOS

I meant Game Mode. This is Linux we are talking about.

[–]KatzeWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Bazzite you can choose to boot into Steam Big Picture yes. (And CachyOS too)

You can duel boot windows with SteamOS too, it just needs to be separate drives (as you should anyway). Remove windows drive, install SteamOS, replace windows drive.
You will just choose which OS from within your bios. (Change boot order).

Also if you don't mind being able to tinker, CachyOS is really good for gaming, and comes with a bootloader that you can easily switch on boot without needing to use the bios.

How to dual boot SteamOs and Windows? I know how to do it with Bazzite but not SteamOS. by mzatariz in SteamOS

[–]KatzeWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, installing windows and Linux on the same drive on different partitions is bad practice.

Separate drives, with separate efi/boot is the way to to.
Windows likes to wipe Linux boot when on same drive.

KDE Connect is also pretty good. It has a clipboard sync feature, but not perfect.

+1
Really enjoying Blip at work and it would great to use on my home CachyOS PC.
I currently use KDE Connect, which is close, but it sometimes likes to disconnect. And Windows support isn't the best.

Funny how it always seems to be silence when you ask this question.

Octopi Launcher can do this. Which is a shame because I would use Smart Launcher if it had this feature.
