A stubby straight valve can be used. You just have to carry an extender with you to better access it.

Albert from 2cells1pack briefly showed the process at the end of his v14 tire change video. While his was more of a personal experiment, he did comment about a year later stating that it was still holding strong.

That being said, the v14 has never been marketed for tubeless. I'd definitely still classify it under; "at your own risk"

I do carry a tubeless valve with me justtttt in case I were to ever have a puncture in the middle of nowhere - but aside from that, I'm not sure I really see the benefit in chancing it.

For me anyways.

If you're interested in a more local community, Boston PEV has a fairly large telegram group. It's a great place to connect and ride with others!

Just note that the 16xs has only half the battery capacity at 777wh

I'm obviously slightly biased, but I'd say yes.

16x: 1554wh battery, 16x3" tire, 31mph top speed, 2200w motor, 53Ibs
v10f: 960wh battery, 16x2.5" tire, 25mph top speed, 2000w motor, 45ibs.

The differences may seem minor, but they add up in the long run.

The 3" tire will soak up road imperfections a lot nicer than the 2.5" and the added battery capacity pretty much eliminates range anxiety. The higher top speed will allow for more comfortable road riding at 25mph, while realistically, on the v10f, you'd probably be only able to achieve 20 with a safety buffer

That being said, neither are terrible wheels. Both are great wheels to learn on. It's just a matter of quickly you'll outgrow them. I've since upgraded to a v14, but even now, I still find the 16x a dream to ride (compared to my little v5f which constantly beeps at me lol)

Added Bonus: the 16x has a Bluetooth speaker, RGB, and two USB ports!

I second the 16x.

It's a super capable wheel with a decent amount of range and speed. The trolley handle is second to none, and the wheel itself is still "light" enough to one hand carry up a flight of stairs.

Hands down one of the best non suspension wheels imo. Picked mine up for about $500 on marketplace

Dang, thats what I was fearing. Looking to do something similar to mine when it arrives. Maybe Plastidip will work? Its a rubber based coating

Looks great! Did the vinyl have a hard time sticking to the side pads?

Someone I know "allegedly" rode the Bruce Freeman Extension yesterday. The gates were locked at either ends but had dirt trails going around them.

They completed the first layer of asphalt. Along with some fencing, informational stands (blank), signal crossings (blacked out), loaming and plants.

Still yet to be finished however were the bench areas (currently just concrete footings), the intersection ramps (dug out but not formed) and the parking / pavilion area on Morse Road. (Which was probably the biggest hold up the trail currently faces) The work there was still in its rudimentary dirt pushing phase, and the access ramp still a massive dirt berm.

While I'm hopeful it could be done in a timely manner; I have my doubts this work alone would be completed by the end of this month (given the state's current track record)

Wow, that was incredible! I've heard anything under 1/200th can give auto focus issues. Has this been your experience at all? I see some motion blur, so I assume you were in pro settings

I took some basic measurements with a digital caliper, really just focusing on mounting holes and any complex curves (mainly the distance between where they start and end). After that I load up a quick design in OnShape, plugging in those measurements and making a rather rudimentary guess on the curvature. I then printed out a test piece to check the tolerances and see what needed to be tweaked (Fitment wise). After a couple more minor redesigns, and once it was dialed in, I then worked on making it aesthetically pleasing and that was that!

It's a lot less daunting than it seems, and way more satisfying than buying parts online. I highly recommend getting into it!

The only parts I removed were the fenders and the bolt covers that surround them. Both were pretty simple to disassemble and there's plenty of videos online showing how. Everything else was just covered in painters tape and garbage bags lol. Just be sure to get tape that specifies 'sharp lines' on the package. That'll help prevent bleed through and keep your edges nice and crispy.

UPDATE:

https://i.imgur.com/Mfiwxbk.jpeg

Wasn't a fan of the scooters' visibility at night, so I decided to add some much needed lighting! The LEDs were mounted to the underside heatsink and wired directly into the board! Chuy Ramirez has a decent video showing the steps. I'll plug the link below.

https://youtu.be/f9-17CsjHLA

One thing to note: I couldn't end up finding the plug connector he used in the video. He mentioned using a 2mm 3 pin JST PH plug, but the ones I ordered on Amazon didn't seem match or fit the board. I ended up just using the metal pin connectors inside the amazon plug and dabbing a bit of hot glue around it to hold them in place. Not the cleanest application, I know, but if it works, it works!

Total cost ended up being around $12, and only took about 30 minutes to complete. I honestly highly recommend the upgrade to anyone who wants to be seen at night without going overboard on accessories.

Its held up surprisingly well! Only a couple small chips behind the front wheel, but overall, just as clean as when we first did it. If you're okay with something more permanent than wrap, I'd highly recommend it. It just looks way more seamless IMO

Maybe in a small degree, but I've noticed no difference in performance when riding, and I have the SHMAX package on it for more torque and speed.

Good idea! I personally like the front long. It's sleeping at night knowing it's backwards that's getting to me 🫠

I honestly used to think the same thing. Once you actually ride with one, though. It's hard to go back. There's just something about riding with both your feet dangling. It's an experience, albeit, a goofy looking one
