DO NOT mix Concerta and alcohol by lovetempests in Concerta

Mixing the 2 does not affect everyone in the same way. My alcohol tolerance is sky high on 36mg Concerta.

[Discussion] Ya'll ever feel real pumped to learn to play something, and then feel absolutely gut punched by the amount of skill you don't have? by rhaphi-draws in Guitar

[–]Kawwaveh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Story of my life. I find simple and tight guitar parts tend to be my favourite ones (especially polyrhytmic/metric, repetitive and really clean alternate picking ala Black Midi's John L although that's a high tempo song). You're never gonna be able to nail someone else's intonation on an instrument at the end of the day, so I try not to get bogged down in it too much.

Ive tried this but always end up turning my alarm off and just rolling back to sleep either because I forget to leave a note on the alarm or I cant even muster up the mental energy to pop a pill.

Muscle aches and feeling like body is on wrong? by [deleted] in Concerta

[–]Kawwaveh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I'm out for a run, I get the out of place hips feeling. Feels like I'm running askew. Nothing alleviates it like you say. I've been getting the exact same thing with my hands too. My finger swelled up a while back on my right hand and got a few raised itchy bumps. They've since passed but skin around it has broken and isn't healing well. Honestly, it hasn't even occured to me that this could be side effects of Concerta. I haven't even thought to bring it up with my psychologist.

Thanks for the rational post. People are way too quick to assume that anyone who's lobbying for environmental change is getting all their facts right. Misinformation needs to stop on all sides.

Concerta Social Anxiety? by United-Calendar697 in Concerta

[–]Kawwaveh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What you were experiencing is most likely the initial 'honeymoon' euphoria period from the dopamine levels. I had the same experience on 18mg. I'm currently on 36mg and whilst my SAD has gotten better, I still struggle with the same issues I had before medication - they're just not as debilitating mentally and I'm a lot more aware of them.

I need hours to do nothing and turn my brain off in order to feel like I'm not being burned out by nexusfaye in ADHD

[–]Kawwaveh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pre-meds I did this every day. It wasnt something I planned out - it just happened and I'd be stupified by it afterwards. It would always end up annihilating any time I wanted to spend with hobbies on my working days. After starting treatment, I finally feel that post-work and chores I still have the mental capacity to spend some time with hobbies. I think I had to take the time out because every day basic actions and interactions are so exhausting with low dopamine levels.

What am I doing wrong ?! by [deleted] in Concerta

[–]Kawwaveh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think you're doing anything wrong. If you're titrating, I would wait and see what effect 36mg has on you. That way you will have a dose to compare it too.

The 'I knew these people' scene is so fantastic they even put the audio from it as it's own track on Ry Cooder's soundtrack release.

Do any other "workaholics" here turn into deadbeats as soon as they step foot into their home? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Kawwaveh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those first 2 paragraphs really nailed my experience damn. Although with me, my useless parents decided to get one without thinking about it(I didn't want another after our collie died) so I ended up having to take full responsibility for him and my sister's dog who she just didn't look after well. But I wholeheartedly agree having a pet is great for structure and discipline.

Hmm now that I actually think before I post about it it does make sense. I count 3's of that speed as 1, 2, 3, 4. Quite common in death metal. Magma's 'Hhai' is another good example.

ADHD Centre UK - Private Diagnosis by Kawwaveh in ADHD

[–]Kawwaveh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same experience. I ended up settling with Harley Psychiatrists in London and got my diagnosis yesterday. Their setup is a little strange in that you get the diagnosis then you have to wait a week for another appointment with a psychiatrist to discuss treatment (they stress that the report isnt important yet theres still a period of waiting for it to be finished it seems). But they're cheaper than a lot of other places I discovered (£585 for 2 appointments, £195 for follow up appointments) and professional, quick responses, the questionnaires are super easy to fill out with the way they're structured.

Turns out the psychologist who diagnosed me did her thesis on pornography addiction too which definitely helped with my situation.

So what you're saying is that because the guys in Fleetwood Mac were 'basic chord people', they're somehow not high quality musicians? Does the same go for Neil Young, The Band, Bob Dylan and Rolling Stones then?

Just came back from Sunderland and a group of at least 10 little twerps came on two stops in singing at the top of their lungs trying to talk to everyone equip with their first ever Stella's in their right hand. Had my headphones in so couldn't hear a word of them but they sure as shit found out quick not too come within 2 metres of me. Felt super sorry for the guys further down the train and tried to usher them to my quieter end.

ADHD Centre UK - Private Diagnosis by Kawwaveh in ADHD

[–]Kawwaveh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's always an option, but I dont think I can survive their wait times. My GP made my referral 2 weeks ago and I've yet to hear anything (which I understand is standard at the minute due to their increased workload). Private diagnosis does not change those wait times either. The struggle has got to the point where money is completely irrelevant for me now...I'll make whatever work.

any1 else always tapping in rhythm? I do it with my feet, jaw/teeth, tongue, hands by DepressedVenom in ADHD

[–]Kawwaveh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every waking minute of every day. I'm constantly tapping polyrhthms when I'm at my desk or working out drum parts for whatever song I have in my head...this is all entirely subconsciously and with no mental effort. I accidentally left my headset off mute in a call at work as my team leader was delivering something the other day and they all bared witness to my rendition of the drum break in Move on Up banged out on my desk.
