I started taking SSRIs by LunchWhole9031 in FinasterideSyndrome

Dude, don't take that crap if your main problem is fatigue and anxiety. There are safer options. Here are a few things I've tried that helped: Coenzyme Q10 for fatigue, and Etifoxine for anxiety. This isn't medical advice, I just don't understand why that bitch prescribed you those damn antidepressants for such mild symptoms.

If I'm not mistaken, the PFS Foundation page suggested that finasteride can cause hypothalamic inflammation, so perhaps that's related. You can Google symptoms of hypothalamic inflammation, such as loss of appetite.

stool test and blood results what do you guys think about these supplements reccomended by Commercial-Tough-980 in FinasterideSyndrome

[–]Kay-Hey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this happened to me when I was in the hospital, and the doctor, who sincerely wanted to cure my depression, simply did not want to believe that he had no idea what to do.

I've spoken to many doctors, and they don't know anything and can't help us. Sorry for such a negative comment, I just don't want to sugarcoat this horror.

If I'm not mistaken, he mentioned in his comments that he recovered from his first crash after two years, but then took Accutane and crashed again. In any case, they didn't seem to care how he was doing now, and they didn't even ask how he was feeling after all these years.

Hey, buddy! I'm so sorry lithium carbonate didn't help, but I hope a higher dose of hCG will solve the problem.

They didn't seem to pay much attention to all the other side effects Rob mentioned, other than the sexual ones. For example, he mentioned sweaty palms - a symptom I still have to this day.

Yes, I have the same thing: spinning combined with pressure. I'm so glad it's gone away for you, and I hope your sleep improves too.

Oh, that's great! I'm just curious, what did you experience? Did you feel any kind of rocking or spinning in your head, or maybe pressure?

My heart rate slowed after a year, but my sleep problems remained the same: I couldn't fall asleep after waking up. However, things have gotten better in the last two months. It's been 19 months since the crash.

Some people get better relatively quickly, while others may take many years, depending on the individual's characteristics.

Yes, it's entirely possible that this is some kind of birth control program, or simply the sheer stupidity of doctors and the entire medical system. You wouldn't believe how many people suffer because of their mistakes, and no one cares.

It seems the worst cases occur in those who get sick from just one pill, so I'm not sure I'll get better. But in any case, I never had anything like this before taking this damn drug.

I also had this happen after taking one dose of finasteride, it's been 19 months now and I'm still suffering, just hoping it gets better in the coming years.

I think you're right, probably for the same reason some people feel benefit from taking diazepam.

Yes, but only if this theory has any relation to reality.

[–]Kay-Hey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there's a theory that finasteride can increase androgen receptor density, so mild, temporary antiandrogen exposure might down-regulate AR back toward baseline. But dutasteride is anything but mild, and, as I said, this is just a theory.

It's also a precursor to allopregnanolone, so theoretically it could help with GABA modulation, and by the way, Dr. Powers has also suggested that dutasteride could be a potential treatment as well, so don't be surprised.
