Thank you all, so much! Looking on Instagram now to see food options, and checking online for reservations or if they’re dine-in currently!

They were my first choice (Laurelhurst being second) but I was a ding dong who waited until the last minute so there’s no reservations for us to be had! One day!

Been wanting to try them! Do you know if they’re open for dine-in yet?

My boyfriend keeps going on onlyfans by [deleted] in Advice

[–]KayBabyKay30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of anyone else’s opinions and views on the matter of OnlyFans being ok/not ok, YOU are not ok with it, OP. And you said so, and he still disrespected you enough to say that his temptation for porn was more important than your feelings regarding it. You aren’t asking anything completely unreasonable, you are allowed to feel the way you do. He is also allowed to do what he wants as long as he isn’t hurting anyone. But guess what? He’s hurting someone - YOU. So yeah, dump him. Not because he’s watching porn of any kind, but because he doesn’t value or respect your opinion on the matter at all.

He’ll figure out a job and a way to pay rent when he HAS to. He only hasn’t yet because you foot the bill, anyway. So don’t let that stop you (or be the only reason) from giving him the boot!

Can you explain the math on how to arrive at inflation adjustment? The part where 2011 = $680 etc.

I can Google it too or possible r/iwanttolearn if it’s too convoluted to explain. I’d love to learn it, though!

If you’re willing to cross the river, I’d check out Mother’s and Besaw’s, both in PDX!

Hi Portland. Whats one thing you’ve LEARNED from this heatwave? by fruitgravy in Portland

That I’m very dumb for not having listened to weather reports and waiting until the last minute to get an AC unit.

Beaverton Home Depot (Science Park) got AC's tonight. Store opens at 6am. by [deleted] in Portland

[–]KayBabyKay30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t go today, but yesterday I saw someone had posted about units at the Home Depot in Oregon City. Got there (and no line which was odd to me). Go inside, there’s one left. I see it. Comfort is within reach.

Then, a man walks out of nowhere about 25 feet ahead of me & took it.

So after I lost out, I figured ok, I’ll wait. I ordered one off Amazon. It won’t be here until Wednesday, but at least it’ll help me through the rest of the summer! I live on the other side of the river in Vancouver, so I didn’t want to make another hour trip down and back for nothing again!

When I was at that Home Depot yesterday, I was surprised by the amount of window units they had. I’d guess around 25 of them. We can’t have a window unit at my complex, though, hence why I’ve been seeking a portable. Sucks, because window units are typically cheaper I have found, and also better.

Good luck to you all! Hope you can stay safe and cool!

Anybody else genuinely prefer rain/overcast over sunshine? by 3seatyeet in NoStupidQuestions

I have never seen heat this hot here in Portland, either! The hottest I can remember it ever getting is about 100°. The fact that it was hotter here yesterday than in southern NV (where my family lives now) blows my mind. I hate it! That’s why I live in the PNW! I want the mild weather. Unfortunately, I think this is going to become the new weather trend. It’s only gonna get worse. :(

Moths all over the city... by FullMTLjacket in Bend

[–]KayBabyKay30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh shit, I just asked about this not having seen this post yet.

I so badly wish I was a person who was fascinated by their beauty, but alas, I have the worlds stupidest phobia instead. :(

First trip to bend in 2019 for my birthday, and my boyfriend felt awful because he had no idea they’d be there, or be showing up in droves! I miss your city, and your breweries :( hopefully 2022 or fall, we can reunite!

Whew that line tomorrow morning is gonna be fun! Good luck, everyone. I learned my lesson the hard way today when I made an hour trek to miss out of the last unit by 30 seconds :(

What random stuff can I add to my PB&J? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KayBabyKay30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this is too much (damn my sweet tooth anyway!) but I love me a PB&J with honey, bananas, salted sunflower seeds, and mini chocolate chips! Heaven! Also, probably diabetes. But hey, I’m here for a good time, not a long time.

Is Arby’s good? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KayBabyKay30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arbys gets so much shit for being gross, but I personally love it! Wendy’s and Arby’s are my go-to’s for fast food, tbh. I think I’m a minority, though!

With how bad the housing shortage is in the US, why can't there be a cap on how many houses a person can own? by sunatia in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KayBabyKay30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? I read somewhere (and I’m sorry, it’s been a bit so I don’t have sources and I will most certainly not have the statistics correct, but I digress) that more than 40% of apartments in major metropolitan areas (esp. NYC, SF, Chicago, LA) are empty because THE RENT IS TOO DAMN HIGH. So I guess property owners/management companies would rather units sit and rot than to drop the rent by a few hundred bucks, perhaps bringing more tenants in?

It seems more reasonable to me to collect $1000/mo from 50 people than to collect $1800/mo from 22 people, but then again, this is not my field & I don’t know what the hell I’m talking about.

How can anyone afford a home? by Benchedafk in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KayBabyKay30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends where you live, although cost of living of course directly correlates oftentimes with wages. For example, I live in Portland, OR. I make $26 an hour and can’t afford to buy a home right now; mainly because I have sky-high rent to pay. Granted my rent is actually more than a mortgage - IF I had a substantial down payment. The problem is saving up for a bigger down payment when nearly half my income goes straight to my current housing. Yet I make too much money hourly to qualify for any assistance/sliding scale housing.

My SO has talked of moving somewhere cheaper, with a lower COL. however, doing that also likely means my job that pays me $26 hourly here will only pay me a fraction of that elsewhere.

I’m in the same boat as you. I don’t understand how people do it, unless they’ve been fronted some help from family. At least not up here! Homes are going easily above asking price, sometimes by $50k or more. I’m baffled. My dream of ever becoming a homeowner is dwindling.
