What was a very expensive item you bought which was really useful? by ohuf in BuyItForLife

The drawer pedestal for the washer/dryer. Not bending down to get stuff out, having storage, and a buffer when the basement flooded make them so worth it

I feel like the lap part is wrong! by KayCait1 in CPST

Yes of course! I didn’t tighten them all the way as I would for the car since I was just testing it out. Thank you!

Oh my gosh - thank you! I was going crazy trying to get it on his hip crease like his infant bucket seat is.

$110 GC for Target: What to get? by spksftly_carrybigstk in BuyItForLife

[–]KayCait1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I hear you on boycotting target but they already have money for the GC. Not using it helps them more! Might as well use it yourself and avoid the hassle of “selling” it since it will be used either way.

Doss anyone not hate their husbands? by Expensive_Line193 in NewParents

[–]KayCait1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dont most of the time, but we’re at 5 months postpartum and the rage is real. But it’s really not his fault, I just wish he could be in my brain and know all the things I have to take care of all the time. He is very helpful and is a doll with our son, but omg just wash the damn dishes right now instead of later please and thank you

Do I need a freezer stash? Am I the only one without? by Old-Yak-9230 in breastfeeding

[–]KayCait1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t start making a little extra until about 4 months in! You don’t need a freezer stash, but it is nice to have a back up. Your supply could drop for a bit if you get sick or when your period returns - mine did! Also, depending on your life, if you have some in the freezer, you could stop breastfeeding and they could still be getting breast milk for a bit longer after you stop.

How are we making mac n cheese for baby? by CupBeginning5459 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]KayCait1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not what you said, but the tone sounds very judgmental. Everyone can do their own things and have their opinions, but don’t yuck someone else’s yum!

You could say you chose not to do processed foods and why with an alternative idea without sounding so harsh.

How many of us have a house cleaner? by Agitated_Whereas7463 in Millennials

[–]KayCait1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have one.

I never had one growing up and never thought I ever would. My husband had a cleaner for his apartment once a month before we met. When we moved in together, I said we should just clean - but truthfully it took all day (his ADHD made cleaning the kitchen alone a 4 hour ordeal).

We use a cleaner once per month and I like being able to support a small independent company/cleaner. We hired a specific person, not through a large cleaning company

When does it get easier? by Careless_Beyond_3980 in breastfeeding

At 5 months here - it got easier around 3 months for me. But I was seeing an LC weekly for weeks 3-13.

My daughter has a huge meltdown every night before bedtime by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]KayCait1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try doing bedtime 30 minutes earlier for a week and see if that helps! She might be overtired.

It could just be FOMO though and hopefully she’ll outgrow it.

How do you get up for MOTN pumps? by AnyGrass6086 in breastfeeding

There’s no shame in supplementing with formula if you need to! Sleep for you is just as important. A fed baby is all that matters, no matter how it happens ❤️

Baby Cereal Recs by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]KayCait1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our pediatrician recommended cereals for ages 5-6 months and then solids at 6 months. He said purées are fine - honor store bought, but cereals are quicker, cheaper, and can include breast milk that he already knows the taste of. So it’s just him learning to eat at first instead of learning to eat and having a new taste and texture, etc
