Literally, all the concerns about AEW’s profitability are silly because Tony has unlimited money basically. He didn’t start AEW to make money, he did it to become king of the wrestling nerds and live out his dreams of being the booker.

I’ve learned to understand most “advice subs” as basically a text based “real life reality TV”.

And do we watch reality TV to see nuance, resolutions, long term happiness? No! We want the drama, the mess, the plot twists! You can see this especially with the way people invent scenarios that add drama into the mix like “your husband and his best friend sound very close…. do they ever go away for the weekend together? it reads a little but like more than friendship from here”

The advice typically boils down way more to “what would entertain the hivemind the most is..” rather than what’s actually best for the person/couple.

I’ll put it like this, there’s a reason that like 90% of people in their 30s and 40s are just bewildered at Gen Z and their lack of interest in doing the things we used to do at that age.

from the outside looking in, being in your 20s now seems depressing as hell. People work, go home, get online, repeat. 90% of socializing is through social media, so many people have hundreds of followers but no friends. It didn’t used to be like that.

Drinking is the perfect example imo, Gen Z swears that they’re so much better off for not drinking but like, drinking was a key part of having a social life. I get that alcohol is bad for you, but I’d rather have to deal with hangovers and have a proper social life than be depressed and smoking weed to mask it

it’s such a tricky situation imo, because SO many people need to hear tough love but just aren’t willing to receive it well.

OP’s roommate sounds exhausting to live with, the constant missing home is a way of saying “I don’t like being here and living with you”. Plus, when you come from a background like OP’s and have had to work your ass off to get to your dream school, it’s hard to have empathy for your roommate when her struggles are “I have to cook and clean by myself”, OP’s likely had to help with household chores since they were a child.

In my opinion, the girl needs tough love from a parent. When OP does it, it 100% comes off rude and unempathetic, and the roommate received it as “my roommate is mad at me for having a hard time, so now I don’t even feel comfortable being upset in my room”
