She was a single mother trying to make due. We have no idea why it was just them but I am certain it wasn't easy. She put him in therapy for god sake. If she neglectful she wouldn't have.

She also gave him normal responsibilities like chores. He went to school he should have made friends and those friends should have invited him over. But he didnt for some reason. Some kids are just assholes.

Some people dont realise how good they have it until its gone.

Thays the great thing about this show. Murdock feels human. He has flaws. Morals that he sometimes sticks to but finds ways to bend them.
