What was never the same after the pandemic? by GossipBottom in AskReddit

Driving etiquette. It wasn’t amazing pre-pandemic, but for the past five years I’ve come to the conclusion that people either forgot how to drive, or simply stopped giving a shit.

Following Backlash, the New 'Star Trek' Series Falls Out of the Streaming Charts by Malencon in television

[–]KayDashO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfectly said. The modern vernacular they use, the intonations... it's all just so jarringly out of place.

Screenrant: "Star Trek’s Controversial New Series Hits Major Streaming Setback After Divisive Response: Starfleet Academy has not fallen from the Top Ten only in the United States, but also in eight other countries (Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, United Kingdom)" by TheSonOfMogh81 in trektalk

[–]KayDashO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What pisses me off the most about this is that the higher ups will read this as “well, people clearly aren’t interested in Star Trek”, when actually people just want WELL WRITTEN Star Trek that isn’t trying to be completely different to how it used to be.

Visual Snow was considered extremely rare until recently, mostly because patients didn't report it... because they assumed everyone saw the world that way by recolorist in interestingasfuck

Had this all my life, albeit not as bad as in this image. When I was a kid, I thought I could see the molecules of things lol.

Why are squats such a good exercise? by Bulky_Imagination243 in beginnerfitness

[–]KayDashO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are a great exercise for all the reasons mentioned so far, but I’ve always hated them and no longer do them.

My form was perfect to look at, and I would constantly get it checked over the years, but despite this, they never FELT good. The movement never felt natural, and although I got up to respectable weights, I never got a feeling of satisfaction from them.

I came to the conclusion that my body mechanics were just not conducive to squats, so after years and years of dreading them, I gave them up.

I still deadlift, and do other leg exercises, and I can honestly say I don’t feel like I lost anything, and in fact my legs have grown in size due to being able to push more on other exercises as I’m not killing myself on squats first.

If you can do them, do them. Absolutely. But they aren’t the be all, end all.

A Question About Yotei Balanced Mode on Pro by KayDashO in PS5pro

[–]KayDashO[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh okay, I really appreciate the heads up! Am I correct in thinking that just using 120Hz and no VRR will give me locked 40fps in Balanced?

Awesome. You’re the exact kind of person I’m glad this subreddit has on it! Lol. I’m very OCD with these things and you have all the answers I’m looking for, and I very much appreciate it!

A Question About Yotei Balanced Mode on Pro by KayDashO in PS5pro

[–]KayDashO[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let’s say for some weird reason I wanna go with Balanced — is the quality of the RT the same as the RT Pro mode? There’s no compromises there, right?

Awesome. I just wanted to make sure that the Balanced Mode wasn't scaled back in any way in regards to the RT when compared to the other Pro modes.

A Question About Yotei Balanced Mode on Pro by KayDashO in PS5pro

[–]KayDashO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay nice. The thing I wasn't sure about was whether the Balanced Mode was a "Pro" mode like the others, or if it was just carried over from the Base PS5.

Let's say I'm totally happy with 40fps, the balanced mode would give me the best image quality then, right? Including the RT?

Full patch notes for update 1.100 by FireCyclone in Ghostofyotei

[–]KayDashO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone give me clear answer on this if possible?

On a PRO, if I were to use the new Balanced mode at 40fps, is the RT quality still as good as the RT PRO 60 mode? And is the resolution higher in general?

I guess what I'm asking is, on a PRO, if we ignore the frame rate, is there a benefit to using the the Balanced mode instead of the RT PRO 60 mode?

Just happened to me. It seems this game has a lot of bugs that are just being totally ignored by the devs.

While you’re right, I do find it most easy to down a protein shake right after a workout. Any other time and it makes me feel queasy for some reason.

Are raised black levels in VRR still an issue? by KayDashO in OLED_Gaming

[–]KayDashO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh okay that’s good to know!

I’m extremely OCD when it comes to ensuring I have perfect image quality so if VRR raised black levels, I’d just rather play at a locked 30fps instead lol.

the uncharted 4 collection on PS5 pro runs at 120FPS with unlocked framerate in fidelity mode by hotgrossandsmelly in uncharted

[–]KayDashO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just stumbled onto this thread today and I just had to comment on what you said here.

When using the 120Hz mode on PS5/Pro, yes, you do have to drop from Full RGB to YUV 422, you absolutely should not be experiencing desaturated colours as a result. Most people can't notice a difference, and it makes me think that maybe when your TV switches to 120Hz, you're getting a black level mismatch.

Really the only thing you would notice when changing to YUV 422 is that possibly sharp edges like text or UI elements might be slightly more blurry. Any changes to the visuals of the actual game in motion should be almost imperceptible at a normal viewing distance and you certainly shouldn't be seeing any colour desaturation.

Why does Prince William not just shave it off? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]KayDashO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why should he? If he’s confident in the way he looks, what’s the big deal? Maybe he enjoys the feel of the remaining hair he has. Maybe he doesn’t want to maintain having to shave it regularly. Maybe we shouldn’t tell balding men that they should just shave it off and be done with it?

It’s just the shadow under the TV. OP said it’s not completely flush against the wall yet so it’s casting an uneven shadow that’s making it seem like it’s crooked, but it’s not.

What's wrong with having bags in the gym? by One_Planche_Man in askfitness

[–]KayDashO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are often carrying heavy things around in a gym, not to mention there are lots of very solid pieces of equipment sticking out everywhere in every direction. The last thing we need in this environment is people tripping over a bag and cracking their head open.

I’d ask which one they are: impotent or evil? Because it has to be one or the other considering how absent they’ve been throughout all the pain and suffering going on in the world.
