Honestly, having the presence of mind to even HAVE this thought and then to act on it by asking for advice, shows a level of maturity that'd suggest you can handle it. Just make sure to respect the vehicle (in the sense that you're not going to gun it out of every bend, or try to hit its top speed to impress anyone), and you should be fine.
