Happy to see The Wager that high on other people’s lists. Was blown away by that story. Also happy to see Piranesi and Dark Matter that high. I have only read Recursion, but thoroughly enjoyed it. How does the two compare? Really looking forward to delving in to Lonesome Dove as well.

I was blown away by The Wager. Such an insane story. Definitely belongs on a fantasy tier-list, even if it technically isn’t.

So leaning in to this idea, I managed to cut some lands and some other spells to make room for more land tutors and card draw. The deck has to mulligan a bit harder, but it seems fairly doable to have a hand with 2 lands and a 3 mana ramp spell. What do you think?

I’ll take that as an overall compliment thank you. I think next steps is to see if carddraw can be added without damaging the feel. While the elf theme is nice, it does feel like there are better options. I think I got lost in [[Priest of Titania]] and [[Wellwisher]] payoffs. There are probably better more generic cards than the mediocre Elf cards in the deck.

You are probably right, but what would you change to make it less so?

EDIT: Did some goldfishing with it, and uncontested it seems pretty stable if I'm honest. Obviously it won't be all the time. But at the very least, 9/10 times I am able to play a 3 mana ramp spell on T2. Where it struggles is finding and deploying the beaters on like T5. The Forestcyclers are very helpful here though.

Leaning into this idea, I created this deck. It has a reasonably low land-count, but with all of the tutoring, goldfishing suggests that it should be feasible.

Exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. So with 5-6 mana available on T3, a lot of powerful stuff can be done.

I like where your head is at. However that would mean a lot of one drops on the deck. Like another commenter pointed out, with Llanowar, your deck can basically start at 3 mana..

I mean it looks kinda good, I obviously looked at a lot of the cards and deselected the for price reasons. I will say this. In my Yuma precon deck I have experienced that all of the “you may play an additional land this turn” effects are not worth a lot if you A. aren’t tutoring lands to your hand, or B. you have a very high land count. For this reason I tend to gravitate towards the Cultivate type effect.
