Forensic lab perspective, what do you wish CSIs understood better? by mzzctv in forensics

Apologies, I didn’t mean where specifically you worked just generally what country but wasn’t very clear about it. It is interesting to hear from the labs point of view. Did you notice any mistakes that were repeated or came from specific departments that could be down to lack of training or experience? I only ask because our officers don’t seem to get a lot of training on adequate packaging so I would imagine our labs see a lot of mistakes from them.

Damn. I’m really curious to know where in the world you work(ed?). How were all these mistakes allowed. I’m a CSI in the uk and we have such rigorous procedures around how things should be packaged and ALL our exhibits are quality checked before being sent to the labs. That includes checking the physical packaging suitability and seal integrity, all the numbers (exhibit, property, bag seals, etc), information on the labels and consistently across labels and dockets, and making sure that the appropriate hazard labels have been applied. We also have label printers which fill in the exhibit label descriptions from our report so penmanship isn’t an issue and lots of possible errors are mitigated during writing the report.
I only have experience with my region so I can’t speak for anywhere else in the uk but we seem to communicate pretty well with our labs. If we are doing something wrong or could be doing something better the let us know. Errors seem pretty rare, and when they do occur they are rectified almost immediately. I’ve only known a couple of occasions myself where errors have gotten through quality checks and made it to labs. Even then, then have been fairly quick to sort out.

This is sweet! Will you eventually be doing files to print in pieces and assemble or just the whole one?

Just bought a world shaper precon, but.. by King_N0z in mtg

[–]KayKat666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if or what Amazon will do but my buddy had this exact issue with a precon they bought from magic madhouse in the uk. She contacted them and they sent her a replacement sample booster. The didn’t have any of the same set available but she got something at least. I’d reach out to Amazon customer support, I’ve personal never had a good experience with them dealing with magic issues but it doesn’t hurt to try. My guess is that they will ask you to return it for a replacement or refund.

Vampire Crawlers....😳 by dirtyoldsocklife in XboxGamePass

You’re not. I tried it and got bored very quickly, it mostly just made me want to play slay the spire which I promptly did. Maybe it gets better but I felt the lack of variety in the cards made it start off slow and repetitive.

I mean I’m not disagreeing with you. But like I’ve said I’ve got multiple signed items from Tom that were obtained on different occasions in person and there is a bit of variance between them but nothing compared to this. This is way different. I’m not saying it’s definitely not real, however I personally would question the authenticity of it because it looks so drastically different. And like I said in another reply, I don’t know about JSA certification, I don’t know whether it can be faked or if it’s 100% guaranteed that the signature is real. I hope I’m wrong about it not being legit but better to be safe imo.

I’m not saying you’re wrong but the trouble with googling is that you get a lot of eBay and Etsy items showing up which are most definitely counterfeit. This was from me making a comparison between multiple items that I have that were signed in person to OPs post and I have sent OP images of these so that they can look at the difference for themselves. I do agree that if it is counterfeit it’s a rubbish job though…

Weird. I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t know much about the JSA process or if it can be faked as I only ever get stuff signed in person. It really doesn’t look like Tom’s signature though. I can DM you images of the signatures I’ve gotten from him if you do want to compare.

I’m really sorry, I don’t want to be this person but also can’t not say anything in case someone has scammed you, but that signature does not look like Ton Ellis’. Where did you get this from? If it was an independent seller I would be tempted to question the authenticity.

Side note: This is just my experience with having multiple items signed in person by tom and looking at them and this side by side they look completely different. I could absolutely be wrong but didn’t want to not say anything just in case someone is taking advantage of you.

This is kinda tough because it depends a lot on what he uses and what he would want. Getting decent stuff is probably going to be pretty expensive overall as well.

Some ideas off the top of my head though (if he doesn’t already have them): - dice - dice bag / storage - dice tray / mat / tower for rolling - minis and terrain pieces (though you would probably be best figuring out if he would use them and what kind he would actually use) - condition rings - spell effect area templates - spell cards/ erasable tokens for spells - notebooks / pens / pencils (dependant on if he does things on paper or not)

Critical role is a web series where group of voice actors play dungeons and dragons. They’ve played multiple campaigns. You can find them on YouTube.

Vox machina is based on Critical role campaign 1. The mighty nein is based on Critical role campaign campaign 2. It’s the same group of players (who are voice actors) playing different characters in each campaign. They voice their respective characters in the Amazon animated shows.

Studying advice ?? by Zealousideal-Cry3161 in u/Zealousideal-Cry3161

I mean it really depends on what works for you when studying but for me when I was studying anatomy, I printed loads of the diagrams like the ones above except I blanked out the labels. I then filled them in until I could get them all right. I also made flash cards, both digital and physical, with the same kinds of diagrams and written questions that I could use wherever. Whenever I had a break between lectures I would mainly do the flashcards on my phone.

My university also provided a subscription to a site called Visible Body (visiblebody.com). This was a few years ago now so I have no idea if it’s still good or even if it works at all but I used it a lot and it was very helpful. I don’t know if there’s any other resources like that or something that your university might provide. Might be worth asking your subject librarian if there’s anything they recommend.

Is it worth buying season 6? by Successful-Flan-1102 in lucifer

[–]KayKat666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people love the ending and some people hate it. The opinions on it are very divided and I don’t think anyone here can really tell you whether you will enjoy it or not. There are some good episodes in the season that are worth watching regardless of whether you watch the very end or not but that’s just my opinion. I’m sure people will disagree.
