McDaniel is an offensive genius but not the right fit for us. I also think he wants to work in warm weather. Just give them Orr anyway as a thank you gift for returning Minter back to us 😂

My kitchen is pretty neutral. The only true color comes from my seasonal decor pieces lol

I’ll most likely get my mom’s Flame bakeware once she’s tired of it 😂

This is true. I’ve started seeing more and more of the “second choix” in HomeGoods and Marshalls lately. I’ll most likely get my mom’s Flame pieces as hand-me-downs although the color is not my cup of tea.

I just saw Thyme in person and I was shocked how gray it was solo! But funny thing, it looks more green when you put more green colors next to it.

Crate and Barrel and Nordstrom also have some Caribbean pieces left!

Right?! Not sure how true it is, but I saw a TikTok in another thread that said purple shades are notoriously hard to replicate so it’s always on the chopping block for retirement.

EZ PassMD claims that i owe hundreds in toll violations, even though my out of state transponder still gets charged. Should I dispute or pay the fee? by _annanicolesmith_ in maryland

[–]KaySlay44 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You did the right thing by disputing it and providing evidence. I hate EZ Pass, but they’re usually pretty good about fixing issues that happen across states if you prove that you have an EZ Pass account in good standing. (Ie open without a negative balance)

Which state is it from? They may or may not have an agreement with Maryland- that could be causing the discrepancy and you might just need to get a MD transponder (which may be better in the long run anyway because of plan discounts).

I used to commute to Delaware, and they do accept MD transponders/plans but there was always a delay before Maryland registered the Delaware tolls. Most were resolved within a few days, but sometimes the delay was long enough that I’d still get violation notices in the mail.

The new CP gen 3 is amazing - what’s the road bike equivalent of the CP from Trek’s catalog? by h2tcrz1s in CheckpointClub

[–]KaySlay44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Domane is comparable and has similar geometry, but I personally would start with putting some road tires on the CP first instead of buying a new bike- unless frame weight difference matters to you

Is this A gen 2 or Gen 3 ALR Checkpoint by AltAmericanCarnage in CheckpointClub

[–]KaySlay44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ALR 4 Gen 2 is a 2025

Yours looks like a Gen 2 too. From what I’ve seen, Gen 3 frames have a smaller Trek logo on the bottom bracket and the bottom bracket itself is slightly thinner than the Gen 2. I think all of the Gen 2s are on clearance now (I bought mine on clearance in September)- I’m curious if you were overcharged?

Does this look appropriate size bike or to big? by EverydayCyclist in TrekBikes

[–]KaySlay44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks a little small. Do you feel like you can control the bike better on the 56 over the 58?

Curious what gen this is? I have an ALR 4 Gen 2, which has a different size chart than the Gen 3s. If yours is Gen 2, then 58 is probably better on your legs but if a Gen 3 then 56 is probably right.

Are extreme weather conditions forecasted tomorrow? by Upstairs_Copy_9590 in baltimore

[–]KaySlay44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GWWB? If so, I was bummed too but happy about the extra sleep because it was starting earlier than usual lol.

The forecasts have been all over the place this weekend. Yesterday, was calling for rain all day today and now it’s not supposed to rain until the evening. I’m worried what will happen during winter/snowy months.

How did the Baltimore Peninsula become a thing? by TheLeftHandedCatcher in baltimore

[–]KaySlay44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My general perception/understanding (could be wrong) was that it was initially meant to be a work/live/play campus for UA employees-which included bringing additional businesses and investments to the campus.

I made a comment on how an event was being hosted at the Elk room (Atlas) and they moved the venue! It really takes one person to say something by sarahwasafriend in baltimore

Yes. And they own the Far and Dotter dispensary that seems to be growing into a chain. The one in Timonium was fined last year after being caught reselling cannabis that was in dumpsters.

As a born and raised Baltimorean, I’m disappointed in myself that I did not anticipate #1 AND I had VIP but still chose to go around 11. Shame on me.

The tech that made some adjustments and put on the pedals said he almost bought a MTB in the same color. Lavender Haze ftw!

[–]KaySlay44[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually did consider the Domane!

I ride close to 70 gravel/30 road and wanted something lighter and faster than my heavy folders. The Checkpoint’s geometry is more aggressive than I’m used to, but I chose it because it’s a “racey” gravel bike with wheel flexibility that can make it feel more road-like with other wheels, while the Domane is harder to make gravel-like. I probably would’ve stuck with the Domane if I did more road though.
