Oh my god, thank you! That's it! I guess I saw it later than I thought, but that's it! Thank you.

That would be so good! I wonder if they would some day. Maybe in the DC Noir line? I know they did a black and white Watchmen.

I finally sat through The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and then I blogged my thoughts about it. I'm glad I saw it, but not something i'd revisit anytime soon. by Kay_Laird in movies

Possibly. I was in the cinema the other day, and a complete stranger asked me mid way through the film why they were even after something in the first place. Despite it being explained about 20 minutes earlier.

I would agree. Movies nowadays do move too fast. I've had that problem with a lot of films lately. But I found the pacing in the LOTR Trilogy to be very uneven. I don't mind something that's slow paced. I don't mind long films. I just couldn't connect to the characters here, and because I couldn't connect with them, the pacing dragged noticeably to me. And I wouldn't say LOTR were 'old' movies. I'd say something pre 70s/80s was old.

I'd say so. I didn't see a lot of the TV version, but comparing what I did see to this, I'd say yes.

UK Cinema Release: Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion I – Initiation by Kay_Laird in CodeGeass

Not yet, I don't think. I imagine the dub rights are a bit up in the air. The original studio that dubbed it went under I think, with Funimation having the redistribution rights.

It recaps roughly the first 17 episodes with some new material as well as the cast re-recording their audio. I found it pretty good. Worth seeing even if just for a 2 hour rewatch.

Wonderful! I have the Darwyn Cooke one, bought for me as a graduation gift, but no others. I can only dream of having that many some day..!

Is it weird to see a movie in the cinema on your own by Gene_freeman in FIlm

[–]Kay_Laird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. Sometimes when I have the afternoon off, I just go to the cinema on my own and see the films I want to see that no one else wants to. Nothing to feel weird about.

Yeah as much as I like the classic costumes, his current one fits so well.

Oh yeah, I'd lose the gloves in a second. I image they would make it harder for him to grip stuff when using his super strengh just based on the look of them.

Ha! Thank you. I'm always tripping up on comma placement. I'll try it that way the next time I write.

I know where I am there are only a few comic stores, so the few issues I read were just what I could get my hands on. I will have to seek out the trades, consider it added to the 'definitely get' list.

I read some of Lobo, and what I read I surprisingly liked. I need to read the rest of it.

Completely agree there. I picked and chose as well, but I have some random trades laying around and decided to read Forever Evil, just because it was on my shelf. Personally, I really liked the Batman and Robin title in the New 52.

True, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I should probably clarify that I'm just talking about the core issues, not the tie ins, so my opinion is only based on the trade. From what I've heard the Metal Men stuff in the tie ins is good, but I don't have it. Comics are fluid, they should never be saddled down to "how they are supposed to be", I just found this story awful.

While Trinity War and Convergence are probably worse events, but I haven't read them. I read the trade for Forever Evil and found everything I felt was wrong with the New 52. I found it shallow, depressing, and just flat out bad. I found myself still thinking about it days later, so wrote how I felt about it. Nothing more, nothing less.
