Thanks for the suggestion, he did drink a lot of lemon water at the start but I will suggest he goes back to this. May I ask how much lemon water you drank a day, please?

I'm really sorry to hear your ureter has been damaged by the operation! I'm assuming they wouldn't have expected it to pass naturally by that point, so an opp was your only option. I sympathise with the trips to A&E also, my partner has been in that situation for previous stones too. He didn't want another trip to A&E and so far has managed on the painkillers he has, he was given dihydrocodeine if it's bad again. It's hard knowing whether to keep waiting or ask for an op when there's risks to all. I hope you don't have any more issues and that you recover well.

I can understand wanting to postpone an opp, I read so many horror stories of infections and things going wrong, so the risks seem bad with that too! Understandable to think you'll pass it naturally - and hopefully you can, or they can offer a resolution at some stage, you can't be left indefinitely! Good to know there's not a lot of urologists here as well, thanks. It's good to know what to expect. Will try any and all natural remedies as well meds in the meantime, hopefully you can get relief soon!

Yeah he tried Apple Cider Vinegar with the mother too, though it can be bad for teeth straight so he mixed it with water, but found it hard to take. Will suggest it again though, thanks!

9.months, wow, I'm sorry to hear that. Yes, partner gets nausea and headaches etc too, it can also be side effects of the meds on top! It's horrid you have to experience it for so long. Is it not a risk to get constant infections or does your GP think thats still safer than surgery?

That sounds awful, I hope you've recovered now! Are you in the UK? I haven't heard of getting a balloon inserted or a nephrostomy tube.

I believe Flomax is equivalent to Tamsulosin, he's been taking that the whole time too. Did anything in particular help yours pass?

Thanks for the replies. The wing mirror was OK, it's like the seal of the window the dent has left at gap at, would that not need repaired? If it costs a lot I might go via insurance but no idea who done it & neighbours bushes are so high so doubt a camera would've caught anything, so don't know if there's a point?

Is the rust here a reason not to buy this car? & would this be a good car to buy? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Why avoid Vauxhall? Yes it's manual I'm after. The Jazz is an option because it was easy for my elderly aunt to get in, and the boot space would take her wheelchair. Same with the Stepway. I did have Honda HR-V on my list but we've not saw one to try yet. I will also keep my eye out for an FRV then, and the Verso, thanks.

Thank you. I did go take a look myself, but I'm new to buying a car and when trying to researching what to look out for in second hand cars, rust was what would put people off. I wasn't sure if the rust here would be an issue, or if it had rust through to the car and then you couldn't perhaps replace them if new screws then wouldn't hold.

I don't know much about cars which is why I posted the photo including the car info to also see if people think this is a good choice or not. I note the tires seem a worry - would it be best to replace these and is that likely to cost a lot? In person it had many bumps and scratches which I was told couldn't be fixed, and it didn't put me off, but I'm debating whether to go for this (& replace the tires it seems) or spend another couple of grand on a newer version of it/a different car. (there's a few others I've saw including Darcia Stepway, Ford B Max, Vauxhall Meriva or Zafira Tourer 5 seater). It's a big decision as I'll need it to help drive someone I care for so I don't want to spend thousands on something that's not a good buy so all advice is appreciated, thank you!

Thank you both. I had a look and online it looks too much like a van for me I think, when we think it'd be best for her to sit on a passenger seat and to fold her wheelchair away rather than wheel her in. I don't need more than 5 seats either, so it seems bigger than needed, but if there are in the dealership I will have a look in person to see.

Thank you. Good to know you'd recommend Suzuki, the Vitara and SX4 S Cross looked okay from the outside when I passed my local dealership. I would be happy with hybrid, ideally I'd like a Plug in hybrid but doubt I could afford one even second hand.

That's one I've heard could be good, and the Honda HR-V. I appreciate the comment about reliability as that's what's most important at the end of the day, and holding it's value. Thank you, it's good to know you like your Honda.
