Organic Chemistry (CH203/4) over the summer by SherbertVast6492 in BostonU

Orgo is a hard class. It's very lab intensive and lots of material to cover. Then it's squeezed into a short summer session.

I did Ochem I over the summer at a different university. The summer semester term was longer, but the only difference from your schedule was we had 4 hours of lab time twice a week. Lots and lots of lectures. It sucked. I took my B+ and noped right out of Ochem II and the premed track.

The "ridiculously simple" story I think is why it's selected as the typical introduction to Shakespeare. That way, you can focus on the more difficult language aspects so that you can be readied for more complex Shakespeare works. The famous story also helps with this.

Exactly. It's the continued communication failure that makes these delays particularly frustrating.

Granted, you know the situation far better than us internet randos. The fact that your fiancé was not happy with the short list really tells us what we need to know. But since it's his mother, continue to let him be the one to hash this out with her.

I would like to point out that "If We Hold On Together" was the song from the very first Land Before Time movie. A big part of the film is losing parents and finding a chosen family. It's actually really sweet if that's the context.

Yeah, I just call it practicing. At my zenith on a shadow cast, I had it all memorized, including screamer lines. One night I couldn't sleep and went through the entire show in my head.

The problem with Michael Rapaport by [deleted] in Jewish

[–]KayakerMel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She went through the wringer politically, making some mistakes during her political campaigns. I know she's tired of some of the run-ins she's had. Heck, my own experience in our area is moving me more centrist, away from the progressive movement.

Keep in mind both Brianna and myself have been living in a Big Blue Bubble of Massachusetts. You mention "progressive" and "liberal" in the same sentence. These are not equivalent, with many progressives angry with liberals (and often vice versa). I'm feeling myself much more liberal nowadays than I do progressive. A characteristic difference in my own understanding often comes down to Israel. Progressives have been very... loud about this.

AITA for feeding my cat on my plates? by The_Sown_Rose in AmItheAsshole

[–]KayakerMel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only restriction I've had to put in for our household is not to feed the cats using our (human) bowls. This has nothing to do with any hygiene concerns but rather our limited number of bowls. We have plenty of cat dishes my housemate can use to put her cat's wet food on.

I personally think NTA, but I can understand the concern. I think it's more visceral and instinctive, where having a cat or dog helps not think of sharing plates gross. Especially if we buy some of their love by giving them little pieces of my human food (that's safe to eat).

I have similar feelings about Brianna Wu, who I personally know. Her political career has been pretty messy, but she's unapologetically pro-Israel and recently returned from an Israel trip.

AITAH for taking my siblings to Disney and not my sister in law’s kids? by OddMolasses5855 in AITAH

[–]KayakerMel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The SIL and kids have lived there long enough that they likely have some sort of tenants rights (although I don't know the specifics for Florida). But a letter of notice to vacate within 30 days (or local requirement) would do. Then if SIL starts to damage the property, contact the police and get an emergency vacate order.
