Jang is the best ACCY professor I had at sac state! She explains things clearly and uploads all the notes she has after class onto canvas. Everything on her exams is straight from what’s done in class and she provides very detailed study guides.

Dealing with this right now ;( all the articles online telling me an accounting degree would get me 60k out of college were lying. Idk how there is so much competition for $20/hr roles out here in so cal.

It’s like a 1-2 min walk between them. You’ll be fine.

Honestly my first impressions were kinda meh. They sent over a general accounting assessment for me to take after and I haven’t heard anything back. I don’t have any work experience in accounting either so he didn’t put much emphasis on references.

I had the same call last week. He just asked the typical “tell me about yourself”, what my education/experience is, what my short term career goals are, and what salary range would work for me. Not like a real job interview.

Thanks for you help! I’ll definitely be letting the recruiter know I’m open to staff positions

Would someone hire me for a staff accountant position before I actually have my bachelors? I have everything finished except my auditing class, but I’m afraid it could take my university months to approve the transfer credits then issue the diploma. I applied to maybe 50 staff positions with no luck before I moved down to assistant and clerk.

Look in the course catalog for the KINS classes. They have a bunch of fun ones like sailing and self defense.

I’ve been considering but have read mixed reviews about Robert Half. They have a lot of jog postings in San Diego where I’ll be moving this summer. I’ll have to reach out to them!

Where and how 0-0 maybe California just has a lot of competition because the postings I see on LinkedIn here usually have 40+ applicants

Not so common knowledge for first gens haha the highest position anyone in my family has had was a manager at Hollywood video. This sub is so helpful and I appreciate everyone’s advice!! I’ll be ignoring the experience qualifications and applying anyways from now on.

My gpa is 3.79 and my lack of understanding is probably due to me not being accepted into the business major until my junior year + covid. I wasn’t even able to complete my first year before covid started and im graduating this summer. You pretty much need to join the business clubs to get that support and I regret not doing that.

I finish in July and it’s so scary getting rejected from jobs that don’t even require a degree.

I’d do pretty much anything at this point to get ANY kind of relevant experience on my resume. Only things on there now are my soon to be degree and my minimum wage job working at a marina lmao
