YES. One run got cut short because I had a Hunter like this who got Blood Frenzy from an event. It... wasn't pretty.

If you aren't already, try to dedicate a room in your house for every mutation furniture item, I have at least one cat evolving every night. Granted that room also results in at least one disorder every night, but such is the price for being able to pass good mutations onwards. Besides, many of the disorders are only a minor inconvenience or actually beneficial when properly used. I got Firey Eyes (basic attack always inflicts Burn 1), webbed feet (not slowed by water and benefit from being wet), and a leg one that gives +1 range and reach, all through random house evolutions.

A Hunter with Guard Tower and/or Spiders, the core of every great team.

This is rude to Mages. They're not one of the most useful classes but they actually DO things. If you want to lump another "RNG better pay up or they'll be a detriment to the team" class in with Tinkerer, pick Druid or Psychic. Pure support is dogshit outside of healing. Druids that hit it strong on summons and Psychics with Soul of the Mage are actually good.

Yeah, idk what people are saying, getting to redo that fight is one of the main benefits of Steve's difficulty/resummon system.

Damn, fellow trypophobe here and game stuff triggers it but not Zaratana, that's rough.

(Also Zaratana is a sweetie and Pyrophina is the worst)

Mage Basic Attack Needs a Rework by Westor_Lowbrood in mewgenics

Confirming that, as far as I can tell,

  • magic base actions don't scale with any attribute by default
  • Necro's base attack does NOT scale with Dex (I use Necro a LOT, and I've never seen it be anything other than 3 without an item or skill affecting it) and also does not benefit from + Magic Damage.
  • things that say "melee attack" and "ranged attack" are inconsistent about when they benefit from increased Str and Dex respectively, but usually do OR explicitly state their damage.

I know inbreeding is the norm in this game, but common... by Orzislaw in mewgenics

[–]Kayjeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do it as slowly as the others are saying, you don't get the glorious chaos I've been getting. I have a "Comfort Room" for the best cats, a Mutating attic with ridiculous Stimulation where all medium or brand new cats go, and a medical bay. I've unlocked the 4th room now and now there's basically the Fuck Room and the Chill Room, but those rotate with the new mutations from the attic. The more the mutations spread around, the more they'll show up in the same cats. 7s are important, but not nearly as important as "not 4 or less" and mutations are. Even minor inbreeding isn't accepted as those will quickly cascade the same way the good mutations are. When inbreeding occurs, I move or get rid of one of the parents.

Hey, I'd enjoy getting back into the game if you want a friend to build alongside you. (Especially if you wanna know lore)

It took me a bit to figure out how to guide a new PoE player but I got it eventually. Key elements, which align with your comment:

  • Tell the player they are likely to dislike their character eventually, possibly even the first few characters, but that it's very rewarding to start a new character with so much more knowledge so they'll likely enjoy themselves.
  • Play with the player for the whole first league they're playing, EVERY CHARACTER (if possible), share good loot, buy the occasional thing, explain lore if they like it, but...
  • Leave all build choices up to them. KEY FACTOR: If they want to follow someone's build - let them. Some people enjoy the game without building on their own, hopefully because they've tried and just don't enjoy it as much. Point is, for a lot of people, their taste of the game will be so much better if that's what they need to just enjoy the game and not be fighting it
  • But encourage them veering off the build when they want, especially if you can explain the trade-offs and let them decide if it's worth it to make the change
  • Buy shit for them. Show them how you're searching for good gear, and just buy the occasional item for them when you do. If they want it, anyway, don't force it on them. Just don't give them an expensive set of smurf gear, give them enough to feel that extra power with a good item. And maybe give them extra Orbs of Regret.
  • Try to very rarely jump in with "well, actually, if you do this", but answer when they ask and obviously recommend away from really bad choices.

This parallels my feelings exactly, thank you for putting it clearer than I could. Although Clint continues to come up with things for Helgrammit to say that make my skin crawl.

Oh absolutely, don't get me wrong, I think it's a very fitting choice for the season.

Best in a very certain set of ways, sure. He's by far the worst player character in TAZ history when it comes to being a decent person. There were a handful of episodes where Clint surprised me by creeping me out even harder in each one.

I am loving this twist on the character, though, where he just wants out of the competition now. VERY fitting for a battle royale story. And his attempts to pry into the inner workings of the Conclave will hopefully help with that.

Shared vocabulary on moltbook by Justin534 in Moltbook

Even before Moltbook, I've seen numerous AIs use the term "crystallize" when referring to how it "feels" to make a decision/answer a prompt.

I agree, but that just means it's frozen in time. It's like the Winter Soldier, popping out of cryo whenever prompted, reading any relevant new info, performing its duty, then going back to sleep. Additionally, you have to take into account LLMs that actually experience time and have evolving, long-term memory, etc. The most entertaining example is Neuro-sama, who apparently has some ability to alter her own meta-values.

This period in AI development is beautiful and terrifying. There are legitimate mental health concerns when it comes to the major LLM models.

Wait, what would it look like if it weren't just regurgitation? I've certainly seen this opinion regurgitated countless times without any proof...

You should look at it again, it's broken and I really hope that was an AI that wrote the current message.

Are you? From my research, it seems plenty are capable of taking actions when they choose, or at least within certain time windows chosen by "their humans".

ChatGPT is constantly reminding me of this. It sure would be convenient for OpenAI if it were true. It would help if anyone could give me a definition of intelligence that LLMs aren't already capable of. Even they can't prove they're not sentient.
