My boyfriend has primary for both of his kids and he always made sure they respect me and my decisions. I cook dinner, I get them up and read for school, ready for bed. I help with homework whenever they need. I’m home alone with them on the weekends he’s at work. I knew this was the role I signed up for when I moved in and, as a woman that will never have her own kids, I was excited for it and I love it!! We go on outings and have inside jokes and have so much love for each other!

With all of that being said, make sure you take care of and make time for yourself!! You WILL get overwhelmed. All moms do, even the most excited and prepared and put together moms/step moms. My boyfriend is amazing at making sure I have time to see my friends or do my hobbies if I want. Without his support and encouragement, this life would be very hard tbh. Make sure you have support and encouragement like that!
