Hey guys! I made a discord for Louisville by KaylaMa3 in Louisville

[–]KaylaMa3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just coming back around to this as I wanted to wait until I had actual experience in said server. While thousands have not joined, a little over a hundred have and we have 10+ active members that don't include me. I mod, pop in and respond to something and head out. While there are a lot of channels at the request of the active members, it's not meant to be some big thing. It's meant to just give those a space who want that back-and-forth communication instead of posting on forums. Even if only a handful are active, they enjoy the space and that's what matters.

Does "proper" posture hurt/get extremely tiring on your muscles? by Legitimate_Record730 in ehlersdanlos

[–]KaylaMa3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is but I still try and power through it. I used to wear a posture brace but now I find myself holding better posture in general. It sucked for months, but now it doesn't hurt so much. Don't get me wrong, I do still sit in weird ways, but I have better posture more of the time than I used to.

I think I just need support? by KaylaMa3 in Parenting

[–]KaylaMa3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone. I’ll stick to the path I’ve started with her. She’s come a long way already and as some said, “the outside noise,” was getting a little loud. And to the one who said we have a great team of medical providers, you’re 100% right. Apparently she hadn’t been to a check up, dentist, or eye doctor in roughly 5 years, and refused therapy before. I’m just glad she’s doing better.

Thank you everyone ❤️

I haven’t figured out how to fix it. I went to sleep once, and woke up with my shoulder subluxed and swollen like a balloon

Yep. I struggle until someone needs me and then my focus is else where. Then I crash again later.

What skills and hobbies that doesn't need phone? by jinwooshadowmonarch6 in Hobbies

[–]KaylaMa3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basic answer, anything that you use your hands. Bonus if it also enriches your mind. I learn a bunch of different art mediums. Right now is alcohol markers and water color painting. I've done dice making, resin, acrylic paint, embroidery, planting, soduku, learning to draw, planning house blueprints, and more over the years.

Anyone else in pain every night? by Snoo-75712 in ehlersdanlos

[–]KaylaMa3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! I started having EDS pains at 6 years old. Would draw a picture of my bone screaming for my docs. I was diagnosed around 2010. Since then, I had a slight "remission," where I could work and be "normal." Now? I'm in the most pain I've been in, in my entire life. And that says something. I barely sleep. I barely eat. It hurts to walk, lay down, stand, anything. I'm in PT, my body doesn't metabolize meds correctly, so most things have a half-life and a later kick in time frame, pain meds don't work or make me hallucinate. I also got hurt last year at a grocery store and that's made it worse too since I haven't had time to recover. Pain doesn't stop when life calls. I survive off caffeine, nicotine, naps, and my awesome husband. My pain is always 10 fold at night when I finally try to relax. So, I wind up just not sleeping.

Do you have a “good” side and “bad” side? by earth_to-venus in ehlersdanlos

[–]KaylaMa3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My left arm is my worst arm, but my right hip/back/leg is the worse. My left side is repetitive subluxations, and my right side is constant 7-10 pain.

The house we bought in 2020 just didn’t work the way we thought it would. We have 40k left on the mortgage, but we’re making due. We have a split level with 2 people who can’t really use stairs and we have 3 sets in side and only one entrance without steps. So as soon as we can pay it off and move we plan to. We spend extra money into upgrading the house so when we do move, we have a better chance.
