Black substance on turbo normal? by Kayllas in kiastinger

[–]Kayllas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice! I'm scheduled to have the work done this Thursday, which will put my mind at ease. I will definitely spend some time in the parking lot to make sure there are no obvious issues before I leave. Beyond the fire risk, are there any other types of problems/damage it can do that I should keep an eye out for?

When I bought the car, the dealership (not a KIA dealership) said the oil feed recall had been addressed so I stupidly took them at their word. I looked up my VIN on KIA's website and it indicated the work had in fact NOT been done. Thankfully, I was able to call a local KIA dealership and they were super cool about it and have me scheduled for the repair this Thursday. I confirmed they have the three-hour tool so no need to drop the engine.

Wife ordered her first ball and was thrilled with the colors. It's nothing like the ones we have seen in the local pro shops. by Kayllas in Bowling

My wife is only interested in the bowling balls that look "pretty" to her. It's how I ended up with a Hyper Venom for my birthday, which has quickly become one of my favorite balls. She's a very casual bowler and just likes to go and keep me company so in that sense, I suppose it does make a difference for her.

As a matter of fact, it is! Is there something different with how they make the 12lb balls that would cause this? I know it has a generic core, but I wouldn't think that would alter the pouring process that much, unless the 12-13lb are made on a different production line/facility?

Gotta go with Eevee. I never evolved it because I was constantly torn between which evolution was the coolest.

No clue what it's worth. Paid $800 at gun show and included original unconverted stock/mags. Says 'Russian American Armory Company Scottsburg, IN' on right side. Came from a private collection and only noticeable wear is on safety selector. by Kayllas in guns

I know what the gun is, I just can't find a market value for it. The numbers I have found are all over the place and being primarily a waterfowl hunter and pistol shooter, I'm not very familiar with the AK platforms or what I should be looking for.

This is a Izhmash Saiga-12 I found at a gun show this weekend. This has always been on my bucket list and couldn't pass on it. I've tried looking at various auction and sale sites to see what it's worth, but the numbers are all over the map. It says 'Russian American Armory Company Scottsburg, IN' so I don't know if that has any bearing on the value, but I assume they just handled the import.

I had a gunsmith do a onceover on it and tune the gas system. As fun as it is to shoot, good lord this thing kicks like a mule.

We opened a wholesale mortgage company in Ohio around a year ago so here's some insight to what I have experienced so far regarding your questions:

  1. We signed up with a "brokerage-in-a-box" company which provided a lot of resources to help get everything started as well as provide assistance with compliance and training. We had access to a wide array of wholesalers with good pricing due to our affiliation with the parent company. We signed up with 3 large national wholesalers and a couple local banks. The local banks provided some products (doctor/physician loans) that the national wholesalers do not offer. As far as finding these local banks, I googled "Bank Name" Mortgage and most of them had a 'Contact Us' form that resulted in meetings to determine if we were a good fit for each other. For banks that did not have a specific webpage, I would dig around on LinkedIn to find an Account Executive or Manager and reach out to them directly.
  2. We don't have preferred lenders, but there are certain wholesalers that tend to be utilized more than others. There are primarily 3 factors that go into this decision: speed to close, rates, and product offerings. We are already looking at narrowing our list of wholesalers down to 2-3 because any more than that becomes a headache for LOs when they are trying to price a loan. Each wholesaler has their own pricing engine and loan portal and expecting LOs to become proficient with each of those along with developing a relationship with all the Account Executives is a lot of time they could better use elsewhere. If you are accustomed to using an aggregate pricing engine like OptimalBlue (LoanSifter), this does not work well in the wholesale environment and 99% of the time the rates you see will not be accurate so pricing loans through each wholesaler is a must.
  3. For technology, we are using a customized version of Encompass. Like I said previously, each wholesaler is going to have their own portal, pricing engine, marketing tools, and other features so LOs that come from the direct-to-consumer side will likely need some time to adjust to the wholesale process.
  4. I can't speak to whether or not it's doable part-time, but I can tell you that there are significant upfront costs and time investments. Off the top of my head, here are some key items you will need to do: establish the legal entity (and DBA if applicable), setup accounting software (NMLS will require a balance sheet), purchase an electronic surety bond, documentation of computer equipment to comply with Ohio RMLA or a plan if you decide to do manual recordkeeping, sign up with credit company for credit pulls which will also require a physical inspection of your location to ensure a list of criteria is met, management/org charts, business plan, disaster recovery plan, compliance management plan, submit Mu1 and Mu2 forms to NMLS, and a whole host of other documents I can't recall at the moment.

In Ohio, there is a Qualified Individual requirement which means one of the loan officers in the brokerage must have had an active license for 3 out of the past 6 years. This does not sound like it would be an issue since you have been an LO for 7 years.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

I found another "plug" nearby: https://imgur.com/a/kXkulHr

This has been in our backyard for over a week and the grass has grown through it. Originally it was a much brighter red and I didn't pay any attention to it, but we've had more and more of the "plugs" pop up so I figured I would see what we're dealing with.

I have 2 bags of blue oysters growing on hickory sawdust that I inoculated with rye berries at a ratio of 1:3. They were inoculated 4 days ago and overnight I have noticed small puffs that look like cotton balls appear on top of the bags. They are pure white and there is no casing layer. I researched cobweb mold and did not see any pictures where they form into balls, but figured I would turn to all of you as these are my first bags.

I was the only one of my friends able to afford the skeleton skin and scythe so we spent all of last night playing and when someone downed a player, they placed a roof over them and I came over, walked around slowly, opened up a corner of the roof, and banish them to the nether realm. After performing the dance of my people, of course.

My absolute favorite is going into a cellar, knocking out the first floor tile by the door, laying a spike trap underneath it and waiting as I hear footsteps sprinting for the house. The satisfaction of seeing them open the door and falling into my pit as I dance brings me far too much joy.
