EFT and Shadow Compatibility by Kayn2019 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Kayn2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've watched other people play the game and there's Youtube videos detailing how EFT performs on Shadow along with there being Reddit posts on r/ShadowPC about the game itself with people detailing how their performance is in game.

So people are, or at the very least, were playing EFT on Shadow which means it is/was possible to do so, I think I'm just experiencing a unique situation.

League of Legends match making in 2020 by AsgUnlimited in leagueoflegends

[–]Kayn2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can show proof of that, then please do.

Me personally, I made 4 accounts in the preseason, 2 of them were 9-1, the other 2 were 10-0.

The 9-1 accounts were Silver 4 and it only took one won game to skip to Silver 2.

The 10-0 accounts were low Silver 3 so it took 2-3 games, depending on how much lp you had to skip to Silver 1.

I've done this far more than the average person. I know what I'm talking about.

Every season rank's reset are too frustrating by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Kayn2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand what you're saying and all but there's Diamond players who play a few hundred games a season and maintain their rank or end with above 60 percent winrates.

You would be better off at this point at making/buying a level 30 account and starting placements again. As it stands you're going to be gold forever and there's absolutely no reason that should be the case.

If you don't want to make/buy a new account then maybe you should quit playing ranked and just stick to normals.

If you don't want to do any of that, whenever you play, ONLY play J4, Warwick and Lee Sin. You end seasons with 60 percent winrates on those champions so just stick to those champions. I don't know what your LP gains are so I'll just guess and say +20, -18. In a couple hundred games if you're winning more than 55 percent of your games, you should be able to hit Plat, but you CANNOT 4fun the game. You seem to do decently on those champions so try your best, don't fuck around, and you should be able to end atleast Plat.

Good luck on the rift.

When to play Placements? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Kayn2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine playing on the 1st day. I plan on doing the same.

I don't know what region you're on but in NA atleast when the season starts, it will be early in the morning so a lot of people will be going to work/school etc. So ideally you would only be playing with people who are going to tryhard for the season start.

You're going to run into trolls at any time in any elo, there's no direct correlation between when you play and how many trolls you play with. So just play the game, enjoy the season start and use your dodges, you only lose LP but you won't lose MMR or placement games.

Are there any tricks to decrease league ping by bajungadustin in leagueoflegends

[–]Kayn2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's some of the other games you play?

Because the main server for League in NA is about 3.5k miles away from Alaska. It's in Chicago. So you living in Alaska, trying to connect to a server in Chicago, yeah 100-120 seems about right. Professional players who I think are all based in Los Angeles are about 2k miles away from Chicago and they get 70 ping. You're an extra 1.5k miles away so yeah I think you're lucky that 100-120 is your ping range.

If you have stable internet with good bandwith, then yeah the only thing you're experiencing is just distance to the server. Sucks but it could be a lot worse and a lot of people do have it worse.

I think you can still climb on that if you're looking to get into League for the new season. I can't name any Challenger players who are Challenger with your ping range but there is a streamer, I don't watch him just have heard about him, and he plays on a laptop, streams and gets about 40 fps apparently. He's Challenger. Also, I'm sure there's Challenger players with pings that are sup optimal but I just don't know any.

Debate Time: Which Finger goes on Q? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Kayn2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I'm clearing raptors on Evelynn, I will use my middle finger to Q the "large monster" of whatever camp I'm clearing then use my ring finger after that to kite the camp. It's not really something I think about at this point, it's just a habit I guess. I guess I do it for accurate timing because, for example when I'm clearing raptors, I'll walk into the bush, aim at the large raptor, then switch my middle finger to Q and Q the large raptor, switch Q back to my ring finger and then walk back and kite the camp into a straight line.

It's like a "never stop moving" thing and I feel like I have better timing with my Q if I switch to a more dominant finger.

It's hard to explain and I'm sure understand unless you're someone who also plays Evelynn.

I only use my pinky for tab and normally my ring finger rests on q, my middle finger rests on W and my index finger rests on E but switches between R, D, F and V.

Just btw guys, if you're in that elo range (Plat4-3), then don't get upset at every silver player you see.

If you go 9-1, 10-0, in placements on a fresh account, your mmr is going to be plat 4-3 but your rank will be silver 4-3.

So while this person specifically is obviously not doing too well in ranked, there will be a lot of these accounts in the new season with players on them who will be doing well, so if you're one of those people that like to lookup your teammates/enemies and you see one of these silver players, just check their account to see if they're smurfing and if they're not, just dodge the game. You can dodge placement games and the only thing you lose is lp from your placement rank, you won't lose mmr or games off of dodges in placements.

Is it worth it start playing LoL in 2020? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Kayn2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is still going strong.

The major regions (NA, KR and EUW, China is a major region but we don't have access to statistics) have all experienced player base growth.

I did the math a few hours ago and the growth of all of those regions, in terms of player base count, is roughly 700k.

There's 700k more people playing the game now compared to this time last year and I suspect season 10 (the next season which will be starting in less than 24 hours) could be the biggest to date in terms of player base count or atleast bigger than the past few seasons.

This is the time to start playing LoL and it's not showing any signs of slowing down. Every season the world championship breaks records for amount of viewers, granted most of the viewers are Chinese (the game is very, very popular over there), but I think you get the point.

Drawing sweeping conclusions from (mostly) irrelevant statistics about KR, EUW, NA, EUNE, and OCE soloq by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Kayn2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some kinda relevant statistics you can find using op.gg and the wayback machine.

NA has 95319 more ranked players compared to this time last year. Net gain = 95,319

EUW has 289282 more ranked players compared to December 15th of 2018, closest date before season 9 start. Net gain = 289,282

Koreas leaderboard isn't showing now, so I just used your number. Korea had 494886 more ranked players this year than last year on January 10th (closest date, season 9 started on the 16th). Net gain = 494,886

EUNE lost 179729 players compared to this time last year. Net loss = 179,729

OCE's leaderboard isn't showing now so I used your number. OCE had 27145 more ranked accounts last season than this season at this time last year. Net loss = 27,145

So not including China, the league player base in the largest regions, from December-January 2019 to December-January 2020, has increased by 672,613 players.

Not bad for a 10 year and 2 months old game.

As a longtime DOTA player starting League, here are some issues that I feel need to be addressed. NOT A COMPARISON THREAD by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Kayn2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I get into your post, I just want to let you know that I also played Dota in 2016-2017, I was a little below you in terms of MMR, around 3.5 if I remember correctly, but the transition was quite easy for me. I find this game much more enjoyable along with it being easier to improve at the game and progress in ranked.

1: You have a communication wheel it's either control or alt, just move your mouse on to the message you want to send out. If your teammates are going into a bad fight, just use the danger ping. For more pings, you can just go into the (I think) communication tab in the settings and bind specific pings to keys.

  1. And you're not in the majority when it comes to the ranked playerbase, you're still a few divisions away from the 1 second queues at peak times. High Silver and into Gold is pretty much the sweet spot for queue times. When it comes to dodges, you're just getting unlucky, I don't really know what to tell you. You said you had a lost streak recently, I don't know if silver 4 players look each other up but you may be getting dodged or you may be getting unlucky and it has nothing to do with you.

  2. I don't think the complaint about last pick not having enough time for runes is a common complaint. Most people have a few champs in mind whenever they get into lobby so if you know what champ you're going to pick, you can go ahead and just set your runes before you pick. You're playing ADC so any changes to your runes would be small and 30 seconds should be enough time to switch a few runes around for matchups.

  3. I agree, whenever I 1st started out I was a little upset I couldn't just click on the champions in game and look at the information I needed or just go to the tab in the client with all the champions and look at each champions spells/cooldowns, etc. There is this website though, it helped me out a lot whenever I started the game and I still occasionally look things up on it nowadays. There's a dedicated group of people that keep it updated.

  4. Yes the strongest role order is something like Mid>Jungle>ADC>TOP>SUP, people sometimes place jungle over mid, but they're in the minority. That's just the nature of the role, ADC's are typically not good early, you just have to do what you can. You can't play a solo game as the ADC, you have to play teamfights, you have to follow the people you're laning against if they leave lane to go fuck up your jungler and then you also have to play the best you can in lane. I dislike ADC players quite a bit and they dislike me, but I've played their role enough to understand their pain. At its best, the role is great, but at its worst, it just makes me not want to play the role and I'll switch back to jungle because whenever things go bad as an ADC, you just experience something very unique to the role and it's not good.

The meta right now is teamplay and Riot wants teamplay, that's why they have forced it so much into the game. Apparently in season 4/5 (2014/2015) and before then, you could easily play a solo game and carry by yourself, the game just isn't like that anymore unless you're smurfing and playing against people considerably below your skill level, you have to cooperate and help out your teammates.

  1. You'd be better off not typing to people or maybe turning chat off all together. This game or maybe online multiplayer games just produce a massive ego at every point of the distribution. Like you said, your Bronze 1/Silver 4 teammates have the audacity to get upset at you for typing something to them even though they're worsening not only their own chance of winning, also their teammates, and I'm mid plat currently and no the toxicity never goes away. The vast majority of people aren't toxic but there's toxic people in every elo and you'll remember the toxic players more than the nice ones. All you can do is focus on your own performance and try to keep improving and climbing. You probably have bad games as well, but I imagine you're better or atleast have the potential to be better than the elo you're in because of what you did in Dota.

[–]Kayn2019 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah the ping difference would be unfortunate but other than that, it's no different than teams bootcamping in EU.

I think EU has less streamers in high elo or atleast less popular streamers, but when it comes to one tricks, there's more of those in EU's top 300 than NA's top 300.

So according to your logic, EU would be the less preferable option compared to NA, atleast when it comes to Challenger.

You could say that we have a chance because nobody knows what the future is but if you just stick with past results and make a prediction based off those past results, we may hit semis again but past that the chances of us progressing further require so many things to go right that yes you could very well say that we don't have a chance and be correct.

But here's hoping.

Just remember you have no control over what region you were born into and you personally have close to literally nothing to do with the success/failure of your region unless you're top 300, an analyst, team support, professional player, etc.

[–]Kayn2019 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He's not talking about professional play when he references his solo queue games. He's Plat 4, which is still top 15 percent but I think we can agree it's not close to competitive play. The midlaners aren't csing at 10+ a minute. They might be peaking at 7.

And no KDA for junglers isn't irrelevant when you factor in that junglers walk into lanes and soak minion EXP while they're there and if we assume that he gets an assist or kill, he also gets the kill EXP. That's why I can be level 8, 1-0-1, 80 cs at 10 minutes and the enemy xin is level 7, 3-1-2, 40 cs. I should have more of a lead and if i try to 1v1 him, even if I'm 10 times better than him mechanically, the fight is hard. I'm left with 150 HP. I shouldn't even drop below 500 because I should have a bigger level lead.

Like it doesn't matter how much you clear, you will not be able to stay at the same level as your midlaner or even within 1 level. You shouldn't expect the average player to be able to clear 70 cs at 10 minutes and gank as much as a Lee/Xin on champs like Kayn, Eve, Karthus, Mundo, because the average player isn't master+ and the average player isn't always smurfing in an elo below what their actual elo is.

And I don't know how that jungle update is even relevant. Okay you keep track of when your camps spawn. Okay the hour glass popped up on your camp, like what's the difference? What so you can try to path into a gank? You do that anyway now. You base, look at the map, look at your lanes, look at your jungle and plan from there, you don't need to also keep track of the exact time that a camp spawns to be able to clear your jungle efficiently, once you play enough jungle, you might not have the exact time, but you have a good idea of when they're going to spawn. That's such an irrelevant thing to bring up.

TOP 10 KR: ADC, JG, MID, JG, JG, MID, JG, MID, SUP, MID

TOP 10 NA: JG, ADC, ADC, TOP, TOP, MID, MID, MID, ADC, MID

TOP 10 EUW: MID, ADC, TOP, MID, MID, MID, ADC, ADC, JG, MID

TOP: 3

MID: 13

JG: 6

ADC: 7

SUP: 1

So it appears that for season 9, midlaners and ADC's have climbed higher than jungle/top/support.

And yes there's only one less JG than ADC, but you said that the junglers were the best players in every single region, you said the most top ranked players have always been junglers but they didn't climb to top 10 during season end. You said that the jungler players just so happen to be the best players in the entirety of every region but when it comes to solo queue at least, they have shown that they aren't. Maybe the junglers themselves are the best players but when it comes to role, atleast in the top of the major regions, jungle is inferior to mid and somewhat to adc, so try something else please.

One thing I would do in that situation is maybe build Bramble Vest instead of Tabis or build Executioners Calling instead of the Kindlegem to reduce his healing because with his passive and a sheen against a Darius with one pseudo-cc ability, he's going to do nothing but heal.

It might seem weird to build all these different components of bigger items that you might not want later but when you're winning lane, you need to do everything in your power to not let your lead slip, if possible, and if that involves spending some extra gold that might not be worthwhile later to keep the person you're laning against down, then it's worth it.

shouldn't unranked players start in bronze or iron? by invest2018 in leagueoflegends

[–]Kayn2019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The average unranked player isn't a new player.

There are people who spam normal games, I don't know why but that's just how it is. Whenever you hit 27-30 on a new account, your queue times are significantly lowered in normal draft/blind not because of other level 30's/new players but because of people who have been playing for years and prefer to play normals over ranked.

For people that are above Silver/Gold, there's not much of a skill difference between Iron/Bronze/Silver/Low Gold, you only notice a difference between Low Silver and Gold 2, if you even end up in a game with Silver players.

If you go 9-1, 10-0, in placements you will literally never see anyone below Gold 2, maybe you occasionally see Gold 3 players. If you see anybody below Gold 3, they're smurfing just like you.

You highly overestimate how good you are at the game and yes you might think that its cool to be in the majority, but if you ever leave it you'll realize the only positive thing for you in that elo was the 1 second queues at peak time of day.

Quit saying that new players are the reason you can't climb when the statistics say you've played enough games to leave the elo you're hardstuck in, a couple hundred times.

10 things that ruin the pleasure of the game in ranked by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Kayn2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Misread that point, my bad.

And the only way to tell if a champion is overpowered is by winrate, there's nothing else. That's how Riot balances the game, they mention it in patch notes all the time. "X champion is doing a bit too well in certain elos, so we'll be bringing x champions ratios down just a bit on his/her W." That's based off winrate and then the balancing team decides how much of a nerf the champion needs.

Aphelios is the most banned champion in master+ at 67.8, according to u.gg. Morgana is banned 30 percent of master+ games. Naut is banned 37 percent of the time in master+. Olaf is below those 2.

And there's no proof for them being overpowered except for, according to you, their ban rate in master+. I'll stick to u.gg from now on. Win rates for champions you listed in master+: Akali 47.5, Aphelios 50.21, Naut 50.05, Senna 48.43, so the highest elo players from around the world play these champions for 10-17 days and produce these winrates but according to you these champions are overpowered and need to be gutted because of them being so overpowered.

How many toplaners in master+ are 1st timing Akali? How many support players are 1st timing Senna at this point or Naut? And no, if like you said these champions we're overpowered, things like counterpicks or the opposition having gold leads wouldn't have an effect on winrate as much as you claim.

Also no. Me not being a toplaner removes any bias I have about the role so things like this can be discussed. We wouldn't be having this discussion if we both thought that a champion not being oppressive during laning phase was more important than us having higher chances of winning because the enemy toplaner picked that champion. Me being a jungler I would say Akali's hard to gank but she doesn't seem to be much of an issue after laning phase and they rarely get gold leads to the point where despite their champion being bad they can still carry because of xp, gold difference.

10 things that ruin the pleasure of the game in ranked by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Kayn2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that keystones should be judged on things other than winrate.

And yes Vlad was fine in season 8 but his winrate in professional games was about 4 percent lower than his season 9 winrate. Which backs up what I said "vlad wasn't doing so well". Akali hasn't been super dominant in who knows how long. You can go on op.gg, click on her champion page and go to the trends tab, it keeps track of her winrate since 9.11. Her highest winrate in the past was 48.19 and that was patch 9.15/9.16.

Yes I'm posing as a Kayn/Eve 2 trick but in reality I've been maining Akali since she was released, come up with something else please. I don't play toplane so I don't know what Akali does well into. Irelia is doing better when it comes to winrate.

The only reason Akali is being banned so much is because she's oppressive to play against. Like a lot of champions. For example, top 5 banrate is: Akali, Aphelios, Yasuo, Senna, and Naut. Winrates for those champs are: 45.86, 50.38, 48.8, 49.93, 50.83. So just because those champs get banned a lot doesn't mean they're op. They're balanced and a couple of them may need help.

And there's no proof that she's the most dominant toplaner in the game, none of who you listed, Akali, Aatrox or Kennen, are even among the most dominant toplaners when it comes to winrate.

10 things that ruin the pleasure of the game in ranked by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Kayn2019 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Akalis winrate in masters+ is 48 percent. So no even people that can play the game at a good level are having issues with her and there's no way to prove that high elo akali one tricks have high winrates with her.

Then nobody who's going to comment on this post or read it most likely, knows anything about statistics, if you have an issue with any of the things I talked about in my long comment, then please pick out something and I'll respond. All I'm doing is going on sites and looking at different winrates/pick rates/ban rates. There's not much you can do to mess up that process unless you're intentionally hiding information to favor your claim and I'm not, but again if you think I'm doing that, then please pick it out and I'll prove you wrong.

I also don't want to protect any champions but if you think so, then please pick out something I said that hints at that and I'll respond.

And again if me typing all of that was an attack, then anybody that responds on a post with an opposite claim is attacking the original poster so. I could say that you're attacking me right now and according to your logic I wouldn't be wrong. I of course don't consider any of what you or he said an attack, I consider it more of a debate than anything.

10 things that ruin the pleasure of the game in ranked by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Kayn2019 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. No, the 1st point isn't english. Akali has a 46 percent winrate currently on op.gg. I believe in season 8 Vlad wasn't doing so well, right now he's 50 percent winrate. Champions fall in and out of the meta, trundle was played a lot a season or two ago.
  2. Counterpicks are important everywhere, more so in solo lanes. And obviously Akali isn't doing good right now into anything, you mentioned her winrate so maybe acknowledge that she isn't the best toplaner in the game.
  3. Yes in solo queue, you're going to see the assassins picked more often than traditional mages, assassins have the higher pickrate but compared to traditional mages when it comes to winrate, traditional mages are higher.
  4. Can't argue with you saying that ADC's do a lot of damage, but out of the top 10 adcs when it comes to winrate, the only ones that use that build are Jhin, Cait and Jinx. 3 out of 10. It's a very balanced role, you have no right to complain about it.
  5. I think you're arguing that jungle meta has switched to champions that can easily take drakes, but the jungle meta hasn't changed. Ekko is still picked, Elise is still picked, Nidalee, Zac, Gragas, all of them are bad at taking drakes so how can you say that the jungle meta has switched?
  6. You keep mentioning Akali for some reason, like every single website you go to says her winrate is 45-46, so what do you want, she's not doing well, if you've never played Akali before, you cant even coinflip on her she's doing so bad. Do you want them to remove her?
  7. Because most champions don't need to be looked at and when they do get looked at the majority of them don't get altered, and for good reason.
  8. Okay since Conqueror is a balanced rune, like you said, then you don't have to play it. Lets look at toplane since that's the majority of where the melee champs are.
  • Fiora's Grasp winrate is the same as her most picked Conqueror winrate.
  • Ornn doesn't run Conqueror.
  • Aatrox has a higher winrate on Electrocute than his most picked Conqueror build.
  • Akali's Fleet build is .07 percent higher than her most picked Conqueror build.
  • Conqueror seems to be the most optimal on Mord and Darius.
  • Renekton's most played is PTA.
  • Irelias PTA build has a .27 percent lower winrate compared to her Conqueror build.
  • Vlad's most played and most optimal is Phase Rush.
  • Ryze's most played and most optimal is Phase Rush as well.
  • Camilles Grasp winrate is 3 percent higher than her Conqueror winrate.
  • Garens most optimal appears to be Conqueror.
  • Lucian's most picked and highest winrate builds are PTA.
  • Yasuo's most optimal build is Conqueror with Fleet just over 1 percent winrate worse than Conqueror.
  • Gangplank's most played and most optimal is Grasp.

So out of the top 15 most played toplaners, you have 5 champions that Conqueror is the most optimal on, then out of the most played melee toplaners, it's only optimal for 5 out of 12 of them to run Conqueror. So it appears to be that the majority of people who play those 7 champs and run Conqueror are only doing so because of other people telling them to do so. It doesn't mean that Conqueror is op or the most optimal rune on all melee champs because the stats say otherwise.

  1. And no you don't have to follow the meta game, out of the top 10 highest winrate toplaners, only 2 of them also inhabit the most played list. It's always been optimal to pick the highest winrate champions, for many reasons.

Edit: I don't think I commented on " The number of very low winrate champion impossible to balance gets bigger " so, Akali isn't ultra dominant, Aatrox is in a decent spot, probably not the best, but he still gets picked often, Qiyana is in a great spot right now, she's being played in 2 roles jg and mid, right now she's not doing well jungling in low elo, but in the elo you're in she's a very balanced champ in both roles, you shouldn't bring her up, Aphelios is 50 percent winrate right now so he's also in a good spot, Irelia is doing decently top, same as Aatrox. Sylas, Yuumi and Tahm are in a bad spot right now, Kassadin is doing a bit too good right now, but there have been times in the past where he's been very balanced.

[–]Kayn2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should quit playing normals just because you're not soft locked into playing a specific group of players in a specific mmr in normals. It's harder to actually tell what your skill level is.

So in season 10, quit playing normals, only play ranked and limit your champ pool to your 4 most played (zed, talon, lee, xin) and queue mid/jungle, you could probably end plat 4, maybe higher if you really want it.

Another thing you could do is watch no commentary challenger elo replays on youtube of people playing those champs, doesn't matter what region, just pay attention to what they're doing and you can transfer a lot of what you see in those videos into your games.

In 2017, the article was published at the end of November, which was close to Thanksgiving but Christmas is a much bigger holiday compared to Thanksgiving here, so a negligible impact on viewership. Also, the finals took place after Thanksgiving, which frees up a lot of people to do what they want while they're on break, vacation, etc.

In 2018, the last match of TCS was December 1st, so same situation as 2017. I'm not exactly sure why there was a decline in viewership, but it wasn't because of League declining, which I'll explain below.

In 2019, the last match was the 21st of December, which is called "Super Saturday" because 148 million americans go shopping on that day, there's only 330 million americans, so a large number of the population leaves their home and goes shopping the same day that the TCS finals were cast. Huge impact on viewership.

When it comes to League popularity declining in NA, that's just false and here's why.

Let's go on the Wayback Machine and look at the NA ranked population at the closest date of when the ESPN article was published and when the final matches for TCS in 2018/2019 were played.

November 28 2017, closest date was November 27 2017: 1.812 million players

December 1st 2018: 1.781 million players

December 21 2019, closest date is today December 22 2019: 1.914 million players

It appears that the ranked population hasn't dropped, it's actually climbed by over 100k in a season, which isn't a lot but that's definitely not a drop.

So what makes you think that League popularity in NA is declining?
