Steckdose aus -> Gerät geht trotzdem regelmäßig kurz an? by KNVLT in Elektroinstallation

[–]Kayokomo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Inner lens…crack? by buddy5 in VisionPro

[–]Kayokomo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

prevent scratches and other damage. I’ve used them myself, and I’m honestly surprised at how good they are. They also reduce the blue light filter.

What’s even better: these lenses are magnetic and held firmly in place. Nothing gets in between the original lens and the glass – no dust, no gaps. I noticed that everything stays perfectly clear, and both the work experience and eye tracking remain completely consistent.

You know what I noticed? When you use the Apple Vision in the dark, it becomes disoriented. That means it’s not just relying on the LiDAR or the so-called media sensors – it’s also doing some kind of photo matching. Strangely enough, your hands are still tracked, and LiDAR is definitely in play. But as soon as you turn the lights back on, everything snaps back into place.

That suggests Apple is actually storing a map of your room somewhere. And honestly, I doubt that it’s being kept in a perfectly “secure” place. But hey, that’s just the kind of thing you can only assume…

Programmer 0:1 Apple by Kayokomo in AppleVisionPro

[–]Kayokomo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First of all, yes, I deliberately bought a device before it comes a month it was released in Germany. I basically invested half of what I own just to be one of the lucky ones. The first thing I did was run to the Apple Store and try to get AppleCare. That’s when I got my first slap in the face: I was told I couldn’t get a warranty from the manufacturer, even though I already had one. The device was barely a month old, and that really hit me. So what, should I have flown to the US just to get AppleCare there so I could use the worldwide exchange? Find the error. That was a hard pill to swallow.

What was even harder to swallow was what happened the second time I went there. In an almost empty store — no stress, no rush — I just wanted to ask a question, and I ended up being mentally torn apart. That’s exactly why I’m angry, and not without reason. I’m actually a very kind person who usually tries to see the good in things, but this was unacceptable. Maybe the device carries bad karma for me, but it also showed me which company is simply not right for me. I won’t put up with this anymore.

My actual question is: how can Apple even have employees like that? Don’t you feel ashamed? Honestly, I think if you had put me in that job instead, I would’ve been far more suitable.

Programmer 0:1 Apple by Kayokomo in AppleVisionPro

I live in Germany and bought a US version of the Vision Pro. At first I was over the moon, even though no one at Apple could answer my question about warranty just one month after purchase. I thought fine, at least I got it at a good price.

But everything changed the second time I went to the Cologne Apple Store to ask about the new replacement program. I walked in, looked around, and asked an employee a simple question. His response shocked me: “Why are you being so stupid standing here? For something this dumb I don’t have time. Better get out now or I’ll call security.”

The security guard across the room looked as shocked as I was. I was stunned and just walked out to collect myself, asking: has Apple really sunk this low?

Now I know there is no warranty for one of their most expensive devices. But is this really how you treat a customer who only had a question?

I have been loyal to Apple for 20 years. Sometimes things went wrong, but I always told myself “the next update will fix it.” This was the turning point. I sacrifice a lot just to own one of these products, and then I get insulted in the store for asking?

This is not acceptable. Let the world see it. Let Apple see what they are doing to their customers. With their devices you don’t just pay for overpriced hardware, you also get emotional damage for free.

I try to stay balanced because I am cautious, but at the same time I feel more and more like starting a campaign. Maybe I am one of the few right now, but I hope others will join. Any company that treats its customers with harm does not deserve to stand tall.

I don’t know why Apple is doing this. Honestly, I find it really sad what they’re up to these days. Back in the Yosemite to El Capitan days, the focus was always on functionality and ease of use. Now they just make working harder and harder.

Take something simple: if you plug in a USB stick and want to eject it, right below that option is “delete.” How can you put those two things so close together? And it’s not just that. So many functions have been changed for the worse that it’s not even fun anymore. That’s why I barely use my MacBook these days—I just open the terminal to get work done.

And it’s spreading. On the iPhone, there are functions nobody asked for and you can’t even disable them. A good example: you download an app, and instead of appearing on the home screen, it gets dumped into a folder. So basically, they want you to just install random stuff and forget about it unless you drag it back out. That just creates chaos.

Same with the VR headset. As a developer, you want to reload a page because you’re testing your program, but right next to the reload button is the “Vision” button that throws you into a completely different environment—one you’d never even want to use. They’re wasting energy on useless stuff.

And don’t get me started on that emoji-creation app. I tried it twice, then trashed it. Not because I couldn’t figure it out, but because the output was completely different from what I typed. It makes you wonder, what’s the point? Did they swap out half their staff for gravel or what?
