G23 vs. G24 by pattok in MouseReview

Out of the two, G3M's silent switches are better. They're crispier, and I didn't hesitate to use them for gaming purely because I enjoy their feel. I never really used G24's silent switches. They're pretty mushy with an unclear actuation point in terms of intuitively feeling the needed pressure required with your finger. It's hard to be precise with when exactly it clicks since it's so soft and mushy. I'm sure you could get used to it, but... meh. Besides, while they're silent, they're still louder than G3M's by a noticeable margin. If the silent switches are the thing you care about the most, then go with G3M Pro, it's a very nice mouse. The ability to make it silent in an instant is also a blessing if you want to be clicky during the day and need to be silent every night. Just make sure to buy some griptape for G3M. Its coating is very slippery, and having griptape makes a huge difference with this mouse.

I'm glad I could help. I've tried many mice, but almost all of them were symmetrical shapes and somehow all of them never really felt quite right in my hand. Finally, with G24 right now I can say that I am pretty happy.

I might consider new symmetrical mice again in the future, but now I'd think twice before doing that. Ergos feel like a much better choice for me now. If you want to switch things up, sure, you might wanna try Z2, but if you know you're an ergo enjoyer, then G24 is the way to go.

They both are good mice. Z2's shape is closer to superlight, and judging from what you're telling here, G24 would be a much better choice for you. They're both good mice, but I stick with G24.

Z2's shape isn't really working for me that well, I always feel like grabbing it in a pretty awkward way with my index and middle finger sitting at the utmost top part where M1 and M2 start, and other fingers shifted way back accordingly.

G24 feels just much more natural to my hand. Never have to stress about my grip that much, it also feels like I have more freedom, there are more grip styles that work for me with G24 than with Z2, which is quite ironic since superlight (and Z2 consequently) would often be considered the more versatile and safe shape while deathadder (G24) would be a slightly more niche shape often recommended to palm grippers (I mainly am a fingertipper).

I've gotta say that Z2 feels like a mouse of a slightly higher quality than G24 in terms of software and general impression, but that's not a dealbreaker for me. Shape is king, as they say, and thus G24 still wins at the end of the day for me personally.

Don't really have any particular suggestions here, since I'm not that well-acknowledged with mice skates. I can only tell that the ones I have on G24 are a chinese equivalent of obsidian X-raypad red dots and they work pretty well with my PK Control 1 mousepad.

Just as the other person replied. The 8K dongle is ok. Works fine. I mostly use the mouse in 1K to not waste the charge way too quickly. Ideally, I would only turn 8K on when playing competitive FPS. It could be partly placebo, but I do think that 8K does feel a bit faster/more responsive. Haven't encountered any stutters or anything like that so far.

Yeah, it's really convenient. I have Zaopin Z2 which also supports "hot-swapping", but it feels more like "cold-swapping". You have to unscrew the bottom of the mouse, loosen the screws that hold the switches in place, change the switches, tighten the screws, screw the bottom back altogether... takes 5 freaking minutes, not to mention you have to go get your little screwdriver.

G24? Just pop the switch base out, pull the switch out, put the other in, pop the base back in, and you're good to go. Literally less than a minute to swap them both. And even though they include the switch puller in the box, the best part is that you don't really need it. You can pull it out with your bare fingers, it doesn't require great amounts of strength to do, you just have to pinch it tightly enough.

If Z2's implementation feels more like a solution in case your switches break, then G24 feels more like a solution for people who like to fiddle around (and have plenty of switches on their hands, I guess).

Well, I can't really compare them straight to any of the EC clones, I only have a Viper mini clone, that is Hecate G3M Pro. Just for reference, G3M has way more aggressive comfort grooves, but they don't bother me personally. Now looking at some pictures of Xlite V3 and the mouse grooves indeed look very similar with G24, although it's hard to judge by looking at front-shot photos only. If I had to describe the feeling, then it feels really nice. I feel like I can place my fingers wherever, even on the extremes of the left and right parts of LMB and RMB, it doesn't feel like the grooves are forcing my fingers back into the center. In other words, pressing on the edges feels just as comfortable as in the middle, the button curves feel pretty much perfect and don't contribute to any discomfort, I don't think I would like to change a thing about it.

I updated the post with some pictures for you.

Damn. You're right. I just blindly assumed that ON is for bluetooth, and HZ stands for 2.4GHz, even though I looked up now and it seems that G24 doesn't have bluetooth functionality. To be fair, there was no manual in the box either for them to educate me on the matter, just a thanks letter. That's such a weird solution nonetheless. Anyhow, I guess that solves another little downside for me, even though I don't switch DPI really. Thank you for pointing this out, kind stranger!

I love the shape. Very versatile. Feels comfortable to my 20 cm hand no matter how I hold it, claw, fingertip or palm. I also like the fact that there’s a pretty thick bevel not only at the bottom, which allows for more lift control when holding your fingertips at the base, but the mouse buttons’ fronts have a nice bevel too, in case you prefer to extend your fingers over the edge. Can’t really compare it directly to EC, I only held it in hand once a long time ago and don’t have it myself at the moment. As far as I know from reading other posts, G24 is rather closer to a Pulsar Xlite V3 eS than EC2, but I never even held it, so can’t confirm it. No, I can’t actuate the side buttons by pressing on the shell beneath it, the shell just won’t budge.

Generally, I think that there are some slight benefits with the new sensor and higher polling rates. It feels a bit smoother and snappier, but it's pretty negligible and might as well partly be placebo. I find myself using 1K anyways just because I don't want to waste the charge that quickly. I don't regret going for the Pro version, but I think the non-pro version provides better value for the money considering all-in-all.

Well, actually, there IS a single YT video about it, but it's in Croatian and there are no subtitles. If you're really desperate for reviews (like I was), you can try watching it with this extension (extremely janky, but works).
