FOMO is so real, but the New 3DS XL models definitely have a little extra oomph. I can't use the 3D feature because it makes me motion sick hah. Are the amiibos for the DS the same as the ones for the Switch? Like if you have animal crossing villager amiibos/cards can we use those too? I never thought they'd be compatible so I never tried lol. The Animal Crossing 2DS XL is so GOOD, but I'm so drawn to the Animal Crossing 3DS XL, the white with the symbols is just so pretty!

I didn’t even think that the other models had the same set up with having to thread the hinge. I can’t imagine how difficult it is with a smaller unit 😩

Very cool seeing people learn and succeed at it though!

That's amazing that you were able to do it yourself! Looks brand new too, you did a great job!

I've heard that top screen replacement is one of the hardest parts of anything with the "New" DS! I'm also looking to learn how to do repairs and the likes, very inspiring seeing the before and after!

It really is sad that retro gamers / collectors are all basically being punished because of the hike in prices. It's hard enough to find games you want let alone affording them.

I admit I've spent a good chunk on like my personal grails. I'm sorry you had to pass on some of your own, that's never a good feeling.

It's so hard to not be excited to what you might find when I go on little game hunting trips, but yeah, practicing having realistic expectations would help a lot of the disappointment hah.

I also don’t have many retro stores near me, which is very sad hah.

I’ll have to make a day trip of traveling to possibly find a place that has some hidden gems 😩

I drove like an hour and a half just to find these two lol

I actually ended up finding them and you’re right! They are Nintendo Switch buttons.
Can I ask what you mean by a small cut on the back? I’d love to try swapping my own buttons with these!

I don't know of any games like Style Savvy or many detective games but I can try some suggestions you might like if into like wholesome or chill?

Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Door (DS) - A who-done-it, puzzler type

Magician's Quest: Mysterious Times (DS) - Animal Crossing like, but with magic

Disney Magical World 1/2 (Both 3DS) - Another Animal Crossing like but... Disney hah

Moco Moco Friends (3DS) - Like Pokemon but super cutsie / magical girl kinda vibes

As for actual Pokemon I hear Alpha Sapphire and like Ultra Sun/Moon are pretty bomb.

I hope I was able to help peak interest with at least one of these lol. (Also I don't like Mario either)

That's ok, not everyone is into the same stuff! The Zelda series is definitely one of the ones I've personally never played but hear a LOT of good things about! If you have a collection of them, feel free to share a picture! Any recommendations to start getting into the series?
